Our Summer Saison is a delicious golden farmhouse ale, brewed with orange peel, ginger, and grains of paradise. A very refreshing, Belgian-inspired summer ale.

Just ok for me here. In the same category as tommy knockers "saison"... This had the makings of a refreshing beer... Light and spritzie.. Some tartness but it really wasn't an enjoyable or refreshing beer. It has a little saison funk but in an unclear unpalatable way. I'd pass on it if I could do it again. Like a tart old style that been exposed to some high temps and is a wee bit past its best by date... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012 22 oz Bomber
I expected to throw away this bottle, seeing that saisons are very delicate and that this is a session level abv (4.5%) beer. NOT
Appearance: deep golden with a lovely thick, frothy off white head about an inch in height. this head has excellent retention (even after minutes there’s still a quarter inch there) and nice lacing rings are observed.
Aroma: slight funk, bretty aroma is prevalent. phenolics and spices are present (something I couldn’t figure out turns out to be ginger, its subtle). no trans 2 nonenal oxidation is detected. just a light solventy thing going on in the background...
Palate: body is medium and texture very creamy which follows the look of the foam. carbonation is lively and astringency very soft. The finish is short and very dry. A good trait in a saison.
Taste: just slightly sour (not even quite tart). light wheat cereal malt flavors combine with orange and spices and mild hop bitterness. the ginger has almost disappeared. very mellow.
Overall: wow. a 4.5% almost 5 year old beer has almost no aging elements (off flavors and/or aromas)??? it’s maybe mellowed to a point where some might find it uninteresting. but its subtle funkyness and soft spices make it a very enjoyable session beer.

BB backlog, Tap with Joe, Pours a vibrant and hazy orange with tiny head and lacing on the glass. Aroma is subtle grain, light ginger, citrus, and spice. Has the classic belgian saison profile but a little bit spicier and sweeter. Didn’t have the fresh grass. Medium body.

oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 6, 2016

(Bottle) Pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of white bread, apples, banana, lemon peel, spices (clove, coriander) and some floral aromas. Malty, fruity taste with white bread, passion-fruit, lemon peel, spices, some dough, slightly lactic flavours and a dry finish with low bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Gentle saison characteristics and some wheat flavours. Fresh and summery. Quite nice.

Flaske 12 fl. oz. på Bishops Arms, Luleå 14 Jun 15. Lys gusjegulbrun. Høyt tett skum som varer lenge. Aroma av pepper. Tynn på smak. Søtt krydder. Litt uklar siste kvelling. Mye bunnfall.

355ml bottle shared with djoeye. Straw coloured body, chalk white head, lacing rings. Hay, grass and pale malty smell. Spiced fruity flavours joined by wheat, herbs and a twist of yeasty fruitiness to the ending. Easy to drink. Average summer session drink (Tromsø 27.07.2015).
