Aroma is a balanced blend of chocolate, roast and dark fruit with various chocolate notes being most prevalent. Milk chocolate and dark chocolate are present. Light roast character. Dark fruit notes are raisin and prune. No hop aroma.
Pours black with a light mocha head with really good retention that clings to the edges. No lacing and big legs.
Flavor is also dominated by rich chocolate notes. Sweet milk chocolate, some dark chocolate and light roast upfront. Mid palate you get some esters and some vanilla. Lots of complex barrel character to this one - hints of bourbon, the vanilla, some almond. Finish has a bit of alcohol heat and more bitter, dark chocolate.
Full bodied with medium carbonation. No astringency and moderate alcohol heat. A lot of silkiness to this one.
Overall this is a really enjoyable beer. Great chocolate and roast malt character with complex barrel notes. The alcohol is nicely balanced. I could drink a few of these.

Nice brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, almost a little neutral, dark malts, dark sugar, vanilla, oak, grass, chocolate, coffee. Taste is slightly sweet oaky, dark sugar, bourbon, dark malts, oak, cocoa, coffee, lactose. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice enough.
Large brown head, lasting with a nice saggy lacing.black colored. Nose is whisky and chocolate. Body is full, oily on the palate, soft carbo. Fairly sweet malts, caramel with notes of chocolate, light roast, gettin a bit much coconut, soy and the booze level is about maxed. Finish is a bit sweet, soy more so, losing me, i tried but were just heading in the same old direction. Another over done BB Impy Stout. Not refined, lower class. Maybe I’m growing up??!! Bottle, 2015 vintage cellared for about a year. Deep dark brown pour with a thin brown head. Aroma is rich with bourbon barrel notes, light roast, and some char. Swirling notes and layers of flavor... complex. Good woody bourbon barrel notes along with espresso and dark chocolate. Some vanilla too. Ends with a bit of char to compliment the sweet boozy barrel treatment.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. This is a deep and dark brown looking one, only a small filmy but lacing beige head. I get a immediate wood-up thing blended with all the roastiness. Green strawberry sourness in a way? Strange but nice. Hints of vanilla also, and perhaps some dark wood in the back. Traces of cocoa and chocolate. Tastes quite nice. It has that slight wood acidity on the taste also, not to disturbing, but it is somewhat mouth drying and almost a bit astringent at the beginning. Lots of strong and powerful flavors. From bottle pours a black body with a creamy tan head. So many elements in the aroma...chocolate, dark fruit, vanilla, caramel, cherries, yeast, and of course bourbon. The flavor reinforced these elements along with burnt sugar, molasses, and some earthy notes. Very complex! Rich creamy smooth mouthfeel. The flavor just went on and on. I didn’t want it to stop. Clear dark brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lactose, weird sugary stuff, toffee and fudge, some chocolate, grains, cocoa powder. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, malty, lots of dried fruits, caramel, pretty roasted. Aftertaste: roasted, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits.

Thank you Sebletitje. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting. Black, little tanned head. Nose is huge mocha, milk chocolate, very sweet, lactic sweet, mocha ice cream. Taste is mocha sugar, milk chocolate, chocolate syurp, lacto sweet, sugar mocha ice cream & vanilla, sweet milk chocolate part is wonderful, there is a low red grape, vaguely sour bit which takes it a bit down for me. Body is lactose, milk chocolate, sugar, mocha. Very lovely with a small minor point. Given the infection stories this might turn ugly with time.
