On tap at brewery on June 22, 2011. Dark orange pour with tiny lace. Spice sour hidden in the nose. Bubble gum and banana up front. Sharp and spicy behind. Gooey out back, and eventually all over. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - NOV 21, 2011
Clear orangish red with a fizzy white head. Sweet caramel and bubble gum aroma and taste with a good thick palate and a musty sweet finish. cmc619 (501) - California, USA - AUG 24, 2011
At Green Flash tasting room. Reddish brown, attractive pour into tasting glass. Flavor is classic: raisin, molasses, sugar sweet. Pretty much holds its own in the style. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 2, 2011
A: This beer pours dark amber in color with a tall khaki head.
S: The aroma starts off with a big time sweetness. There is a very intense banana note. In addition, there is a sugary note which gives a bit of a candy (Runts) feeling. A decent bread character and mild toast.
T: Sweet bananas and brown sugar with a nice bready note and plenty of toffee, as well. In addition to the brown sugar, there is caramel and a light raisin flavor. Just a mild spice character in the background.
M: The body is medium with a medium carbonation.
O: Green Flash has really done a good job with the Belgian-style beers I’ve had from them and this was no exception. Very nice. papajohn (1250) - San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA - JUL 28, 2011

Flavors of dark fruits, brandy, raisins, persimmons, figs, esters, treacle. Massive carbonation, dryish, boozy, rich and warming.

12oz $7 tulip @ Blind Tiger--in real time! Clear medium ruby with a two finger beige head, down to a clinging thick film that remains. Aroma has lots of banana bubblegum yeast with some peachy fruitt notes, some molasses and brown sugar. Getting some spice and earth behind, light toast. Mainly fruity and overly sweet. Flavor has a little less fruit, though still fairly sweet. More toast and a little toffee is now around, and follows into a semi-dry finish. Light alcohol noted, bitterness peaks at a 3 and is a bit toasty. As it warms there is a light lemon pulp tang that doesn’t fit. Very low carbonation makes the body quite heavy. Not very impressed with this one.
