Editor’s Note: If you had the 8.1% abv version marketed since 2014 as a Double India Pale Ale, this is the wrong beer page. Please rate under Green Flash West Coast IPA (2014 -).

This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.

this is a clear straw colored intoxicant emanating a full spectrum hop aroma. light on the palate, an easy all afternoon on the diamond refreshment. the malt is there though just slightly, not sugary at all. Nice long lasting bitter finish

heavily malty hay, roasted nutty caramnel rich full flavor. Heavily hopped, piney, resinous, grapefruit, lime flavor. other flavors include raisin, red wine, oak cask, sulfur. creamy, fizzy head. excellent lacing. lostly lasting white head. hazy, bottle conditioned body of amber and orange. lightly sweet, moderately acidic, and heavily bitter. sour with a long duration. full bodied, dry creamy texture, a lively carbona, and a nice finish. tasty, malty, rich, hoppy, rich.

On tap at Radio Maria in downtown Champaign. Served in a tulip glass. Amber colored pour with a small white head. Strong floral and pine hop aroma. Flavor was similar. Intense grapefruit and piney hops. Not balanced by any means - just a hint of caramel malts lurking underneath the intense hop bitterness. Dry finish, medium mouthfeel. Hop resins linger on the palate. Top notch if you’re looking for a very bitter but somehow still very drinkable IPA.

On tap. Pours light gold with a thin but frothy head. Nose is sweet but citrusy, like red grapefruit; just lots of hops and a bitterness that never really goes away. I felt the bitterness was the major characteristic, but I enjoyed it.

Pours a nice golden amber in color. Has a nice quarter inch head on the pour, and maintains a nice froth on top of the beer.
Smell is wonderful floral and citrus hops. Very nice. Taste is the same, but there’s a nice bite to it. This is an incredible IPA that would stand up to some DIPA’s. Good and refreshing on the mouthfeel. Well done.

Pours a dark amber color with foamy white head. Very hoppy aroma balanced by caramel malt presence. Flavor very similar to arom. Very quaffable IPA with a nice sweet maltiness balancing out the bitter hops.

Amber with a thin white head. Aroma is strong hops. Flavor is hoppy as well, surprise. Some citrus and caramel in the background. Has a nice bitter finish. Good!

Bottle. Pours a light yellowed amber with some haze, because sometimes I pour too heavily. The nose is sharp with hops. Bitter for the sake of bitter? Not a lot of malt, so the balance is out of whack in my mind. But still, not a bad beer. Fuller mouthfeel. Creamy with smaller bubbles. The flavors are along the same lines. Maybe a bit of past prime hops? Maybe just too much hop? Stronger bitterness hides subtlety. Lack of malt body. Still refreshing. Not particularly flawed, but not balanced and lacking nuance.
