Poured into a nonic. Dark orange in color with a 2-finger beige head. Nice retention, plenty of sticky lacing. Lots of sediment.
Aroma primarily consists of pungent hops, with raw pineapple, mango, and citrus. Signature Columbus hop aroma.
In the mouth, the hops depart from tropical fruit and instead manifest as quite leafy and bitter. Tobacco, pine, and grass are present, and the malt is but a toasty afterthought.
Finish is oily, hoppy, bitter, and everlasting, and hence, not particularly dry. Medium body with lively carbonation. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 17, 2008
Tasty Californian IPA that hits the spot.

Perfumey and very aromatic. Not too bitter. Good hop balance and surprisingly complex in that department (pine, zesty citrus, clean fruits). Fruity, juicy palate. Fresh all around. Fair sweetness, but well-balanced by the hops resins and soft tannins - no agressive crystal character.
Not much, it’s not reinventing the wheel, but it is straight-on what one looks for in an American IPA.
Tasting at Ølbaren 2008.03.11 - Thanks to Faroeviking for choosing and sharing this one as my #3000 on Ratebeer! It’s orange-golden and the aroma is nice and fruity hoppy with loads of citrus, pine and caramel. The flavour has a nice bitterness with notes of citrus, mostly grapefruit, pine, fruit and a pleasant caramel sweetness, that brings a nice balance to the overall impression. It’s a nice IPA. thornecb (6018) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 14, 2008
Pours bright gold into a shaker. Fluffy white head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it slowly recedes to skim surface. Grapefruit and resin aromas. Clean and crisp with well-balanced malt upfront and a lasting citrus, pine and resin finish. RCL (2030) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 14, 2008
Aroma is a hops explosion of dried fruit and flowers, pine and a metallic background. Nice malty mid-palate with a clean herbal finish.

Bottle 12 fl oz.
Pours pale copper with a small off-white head. The aroma is just amazing, a cascade of pure citrus. Flavor of citrus and hops with a nice bitterness in the end. The citrus and bitterness lingers.
This is a superb IPA. faroeviking (11086) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - MAR 13, 2008
Bottle bought @ Ølbaren (also Maria’s rating # 3000). Pours a nice pale orange colour. Nice sweet pine, flower fruity aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and quite fruity with a good hoppiness, malt, good bitterness and slight bit of grains. Dry fruity finish. Nice IPA! yespr (47023) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 13, 2008
12 fl oz bottle, thanks to faeroeviking. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Hoppy fruity to floral with a dense caramel malt base. Pine flavour, woody and dry. Caramel malt and a solid spiced hops flavour on top. Floral lingering finish. Jvittorio4187 (255) - Boardman, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Bottle fom Doc Johnson: Pours a deep amber with a thick white head with debris throughout. Aroma is huge with hops and grapefruit. Heavy on the palate with complex hops. Finish is massive with hops that linger. One of the more aggessive IPA’s i’ve had. Thanks Doc! lordeche (479) - Quincy, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 10, 2008
Pours orange-amber with white head. Aroma is predominately citrus- grapefruit, lemon, orange- caramel malt, and some pine. Flavor is nicely zesty; again the focus is on the citrus hops. Strong grapefruit all the way through. Nice tangy bitterness at the end, mellowed with caramel and pale malts. Sticky palate, but a pleasant surprise.
