Small amount of white lacing around the rim. Opaque. Aroma is spices, licorice, leather, cigar ash. Taste is blackcurrants, chocolate, oak, leather, prunes, figs, cinnamon lactose and spices. Complex and perfect for a cold winter night by the campfire. Very cigar ash finish which is long and full of summer fruits. Oily as well. Excellent on cask.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear brown with a light, off-white head. Dark malts, some anise, licorice, light roast, some earthy bitterness. Odd beer. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying to finish with more dark malts and mild spices. So so.

Cask - The Plasterers Arms, Norwich. Small though lasting bubbly beige to light tan head; clear, dark & deep ruddy brown body. Spicy, juicy dark fruits on the nose. Like a weak & watery Jager on the tongue. Spicy & fruit, quite Christmassy & cakey. Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Clear dark brown beer, residual tan head. A light touch of dark malts - more porterish. Zingy fruits. Sweet red fruits underneath some toffee malt. Quite well joined up. Tasty beer.
Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #22 at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival on 3 February 2011. Not that black and quite sweet. Caramel dominates. Maybe some hints of spice but I didn’t pick up any orange. Mouthfeel is quite light. Not really my thing. harrisoni (19412) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2011
