UPDATED: MAY 30, 2016 Bottle from 3at3, drunk at home. Hazy golden brown, with a smattering of white head. Tempting marmalade aroma, with a bit of lemon peel. Taste is a jammy sweet/spicy, simple but delicious. Well judged carbonation lifts the body, and there’s a sweet orangeadey hit right at the end. I really enjoyed this, perfect for an autumn evening. Update: Handpull cask at the Sun Inn, Waterbeach. Not changing the rating as still very very good, but the cask version has a sulphurous note that was absent in the bottle.

Cask at the triangle tavern Lowestoft. Pale gold coloured pour with a thin scummy head. Aroma is rough grain husks, little sweet, vanilla, faint orange zest. Flavour is composed of rough cereal, flabby grains, vanilla sweet, tangy citrus. Palate is flabby grainy, moderate to low carbonation. Meh.

Bottle in the Sweffling White Horse, Suffolk. Golden with plenty of fizz in the glass and a white creamy head, bit hoppy on the nose. Taste is wheaty with a hoppy finish, quite refreshing.

Bottle in the Sweffling White Horse, Suffolk. Pours golden with some cream coloured suds. Mild orange aroma. The taste has light spice, citrus and quite a bit of zesty orange. Refreshing with a clean finish and a marmalade aftertaste.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear golden orange, thin white head. Aromas of creamy orange desserts, light vanilla custard. Taste let’s it down a bit I’m afraid, not really very much going on. Light bitter, light sweet. Thin finish.

Theydon_Bois (19490) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 30, 2014
Gravity dispense at the 15th Kingston BF, 16/05/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is wheat, citrus peel, straw, bread dough, light mandarin. Taste comprises caramel, vailla, wheaten bread, light spice, straw. Medium bodied, moderate carboantion with subtle bitterness. So so wheat.
