Bottle (500ml). Poured cloudy burnt copper with a good sized, dense, foamy, off-white head which lasted very well. Aroma was of earthy hops with caramel malts, nectarines, ripe peaches, canned pears and grassy notes. Flavor was a medium earthy hop bitterness with toffee malts, dry apricots, overripe nectarines, dried apples and notes of earthy hop resin in the finish. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a decent length finish.
Bottle from the brewery. Golden-amber colour. Some light hops aroma and flavour, with a strong bitterness PaperKnife (82) - - MAY 28, 2012
Draft at the tasting room. Amber color, nearly no head. Aroma is grassy. Bitter, malt, grassy. Very session-able. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 18, 2011
Eee by gum I like a pint of bitter. Deep amber colour with an off-white head that settles onto the beer and clings to the sides. Aromas of nutty maltiness and toffee. The hop character on really comes forward upon tasting with lovely tangelo peel and soft tingly mouthfeel. Tasty enough, but lacking a little in body. But in reality this is me being fussy. A perfectly presentable pint. Vas (64) - NEW ZEALAND - JAN 16, 2011
Bottle. Crystal clear dark copper/light brown colour. some hop aroma and a touch of caramel on the nose. Flavour is richly malty, biscuity, toasty with some definite caramel sweetness. Earthy and spicy hop flavours, transform into floral hop finish and bitterness. Low carbonation not much head or head retention. Good drinkable session beer, very digestible. hawthorne00 (4116) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2010
Bottle. Clear toffee-brown with an inch of puffy white head. Smells of apples, toffee and flowers. Thinnish texture with way too much carbonation - swirling got the head up to a 2 inches and the mouthfeel improved. Good, mostly old world bitterness plus hints of grapefruit with pears, toffee and spices. Not very English-tasting. Pretty good.

Bottled. A lightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of citrus, hops, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, and caramel, and lighter notes of citrus and hops, leading to a bitter citrusy finish. mkel07 (6406) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 20, 2010
500ml bottle. Cloudy iced tea colour with a frothy top of thin foam. Hoppy notes that don’t really offer much much. Nice bitter malty flavour, biscuity with a smooth finish. Easy to drink with a good flavour. bluevegie (3938) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 10, 2009
Clear amber red body with a large pillowy head. Pleasant aroma mainly malt but also some grapefruit and some pine notes. Taste is a little dusty, good bitterness, a little more hop flavour and good length. snuffla (176) - Chch, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 17, 2009
Darker than I’d expected. Has an odd sort of smell. All GM beers have the same sort of base aroma, not sure what it is, but its not one i like. This smelt like beef tea. Very bitter. Not really my thing
