COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our salute to tradition British pub ale. This Best Bitter is brewed with expensive British Maris Otter malt with a hint of both crystal and chocolate malts and features Fuggle hops. Medium bodied with a crisp hoppy finish. A style of beer that is rarely brewed in the US.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2017 Sample at the new tap room. Clear copper color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Stringy lace. Roast malt, hops and caramel in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild earthy hop. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft. Big, big aroma of licorice. Flavors fill the cheeks with bittersweet toffee and a hint of water cracker or bread. Supremely drinkable.

copper color, clearer than the esb. Fairly classic flavor, earthy and more malty than hoppy. Well made, but not a standout.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. OK stuff, with nice bready malts, pleasant orange notes, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance to finish, some more bready malts. Nice, simple and drinkable.

On nitro tap at the brewery taproom. Pours clear and very dark amber with a decent head and excellent lacing. Aroma: malty with a touch more hops than expected. Some nice spicy notes. Flavor: low bitterness. Odd combination of flavors. Smooth, near medium body with good carbonation. Overall: OK

A pretty decent bitter. Really bready with some light caramel and grassy hops at the end. Tried it at the brewery in 2015.

Keg at the brewpub, 17/02/15. Clear copper with a moderate off white head. Nose is caramel, light apple, biscuit. Taste comprises biscuit malt, light spice, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Adequate for style but no more so than that @whelmed.

Tap @ pour. Not my style. Hazy light caramel with creamy head. Smells bready- actually smells like dry cat food plus a floral note. Lightly bitter plus wheaty. Seemed a little disjointed to me.

ABV listed as 3.8% on the board at green man (typo?). Nice aroma of biscuit and light toffee, British hopping, good balance, decent body, sweetish finish, very drinkable.
