preferred this cloudier brew ever so slightly to the bitter. More classic pub style with a touch more flavor, though there were many similarities. kevinsenn (2208) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2016 Cask at Green Man. Rich fruity raisin and caramel aroma. Good fruity taste. An alright esb. ordybill (1758) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 6, 2016
Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear, dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is malt driven with some nuttiness in the background. The taste is pure malt heaven with some toffee tossed in. JStax (6462) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2016
Draft sample. The beer is a darker copper with a white bead of foam. The aroma has sweet malty notes and just a hint at some grassy hops. Medium sweetness throughout and finish is a little dry. dwm1034 (784) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 25, 2016
ANOTHER ASHVILLE IMPORT VIA CHRIS N...THANKS
Pours a clear brown with minimal head or lacing. Nose is malty with caramel, toast, roast malts. Sweet taste matches up with the nose. Decent but not great...like the English ales in general.

12 oz. bottle from Rob G. Aroma: Light caramel biscuit malts that are also lightly toasty; hops are hard to discern. Appearance: Cola amber color with fairly healthy carbonation holding up a bubbly, bone coloured head. Flavour: Lean caramel tea biscuit up front with a very light woody/slightly spicy hop character near the finish, which is abrupt. Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: The malts are mostly right, but the hops are too dialed back even from an English ESB. Fine, but a little dull. hman43 (1586) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JAN 17, 2016
It pours black, but there is some that makes it through. It has a full head with lacing. It has a strong malt aroma that features chocolate. There are some dark fruit aromas and hints of floral hops. It has roasted malt flavors with chocolate, floral hops, and hints of fruit. It has high carbonation with a moderate feel to is. It is moderately bitter on the palate. Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a white foam crown. Great balance, with pleasant sweet, bready malts, nuts, mellow leafy hop bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with notes of lightly toasted bread, faint earth. Good one. Very, very drinkable. klaing (282) - Florida, USA - DEC 18, 2015
Nut brown, clear, thin head and mild carbonation. As advertised, caramel, biscuity, mild floral, English hops. Don't drink cold to get the best out of it. Very good.

Bottle. Brown body with a frothy, off-white head. Malty aroma of caramel, dusty grain, nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Very little hop flavor. Its heavy-handed malt flavors and sweetness take this beer to someplace nowhere close to an ESB. Style aside, the flavor is jumbled and the mouthfeel is dusty grain, dirty.
