Draft. Very dark brown, murky. Aroma of pure sugar and caramel. Taste is sweet and malty. Totally off style. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - AUG 16, 2014
On tap at Jack of the Woods - Aroma is malt forward - toasted malts, caramel. Pours a clear dark reddish-brown with a white ring and no lacing. The palate is is rich - toffee, bread, nuts, wood ending with a dry finish. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Overtake, rewardingly well balanced and enjoyable. jackl (8022) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 5, 2014
Sample During RBWG Day 2, Asheville. Amber pour with a modest white head. Apple and pear fruit leather. Some wood and toffee. Similar flavor. Light toast, more caramel. A bit syrupy and slick. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - JUL 16, 2014
I gotta say this is one of the best ESBs I've ever had. Nice bready blonde start, nice clean somewhat bright finish. Really nice.

Asheville, NC - Bruisin’ Ales - 12 oz bottle. Dark tea-like pour, slight off-white head. Aroma has some toffee-like sweetness, a touch of baked bread. Flavor has a nice subtle bitterness with some toffee accents, a light touch of dates, some canned baked brown bread and some citrus trailing bitterness. Mouthfeel has a pleasant texture to it. Pretty sold.

Draft to taster at Green Man. Looks good for the style; a fairly transparent copperish orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells malty with notes of toast and caramel; not much hops though. Tasteslike it smells with a touch of caramel and spiciness . Average on the palate. Alright, but could definitely be hoppier. On draft. Aroma of toast, star anise and licorice. Flavor is of warm black licorice and caramel. A best-of-style. GTAEgeek (2184) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 22, 2014
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown, with a small, beige head. Butter toffee, cinnamon, light rye, and black bread. The flavor is bready sweetness, and a very light bitterness. Light to medium body, chalky, sticky, and creamy. Overall, this is a pretty nice, malty beer. Very mellow bittering, and a fairly clean palate. woodychevy (874) - - APR 24, 2014
Decent beer for a style I wouldn’t normally order. Had on tap at Farm Burger. Pours a deep opaque amber color with a nice tan head. Nose and taste nicely balanced with a heavy enough mouthfeel to stand up to appearance. First half of pint was better- ie colder. Definitely mellows out as it warms up- or could not stand up to spicy food. Bread, caramel, nutty, hoppy- all the right flavors are there. Pretty good. Paincane (170) - Georgia, USA - APR 3, 2014
Rich amber colored brew topped by a tan head. Good lace. Roasty malt & nutty aromas. Caramel, toffee & nut flavors with a dry bitter finish.
