3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted on 1/17/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Craft Brewed. Pours a dark brown that lets just a touch of reddish light through and a thick tan head that slowly recedes to rocky lace. The nose is milk and dark chocolate with some roasted coffee, and just a touch of vanilla. The flavor is a little bit more milk chocolate forward with the more bitter dark chocolate and coffee notes taking a back seat and the same nice little touch of vanilla. The body is medium with a creamy texture, average carbonation, and a long finish that brings back the dark chocolate and coffee bitterness balanced by the light vanilla.
Sampled at an esbls. Porter looking. No foam. Nose of vanilla, soy, and caramel. Flavor is soy, earth, and bread. Good. scotchzombie (621) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - DEC 28, 2017
Pours dark reddish-brown with a fast fading tan head. Finishes as a rim and coating. Aroma is malty and slightly sour with faint notes of chocolate. Mouthful is very active with a creamy aftertaste. Taste is mild chocolate malt and again some sourness. Classic English porter, but lacking a bit in depth and complexity of flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2017 Pours a deep brown to black with a khaki head. Aromas of malt and coffee. Taste the same with some semisweet chocolate. Nice beer. kramer (6975) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 1, 2017
Bottle. Pours a clear brown body with a minimal wispy beige head that faded rather quickly. The nose is pretty intense for a straight porter, tons of chocolate and roast with just a little caramel, coffee, and a light bit of nuttiness. The flavor is a little less intense, but still some nice chocolate malt and coffee up front with some caramel and roast on the finish. Not a whole lot of hops in this one, much more of an English Porter. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Decent porter.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark brown to black color with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with some chocolate and a bit of coffee. The taste matches the nose. An outstanding porter.

Grabbed in a mix and match 6-pack in SC while visiting Myrtle Beach. They actually have Green Man here in FL now, but hadn’t gotten around to trying them yet. This porter was the one I really was curious about. This is a very good resemblance of the style. Super dark brown, near black appearance. Rich creamy texture. Sweet up front with some bitter chocolate and hops at the end. Decent balance, but leans slightly on the sweet side. Reminds me of one of my favorites, Anchor Porter. Will probably get an entire 6-pack one day in the future. yespr (48876) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - APR 19, 2017
