Bottle @ Bobby’s house, shared by Sam. Golden orange pour with a white head. Nice big pineapple aroma. Lots of citrus peel, pine, and grass. A touch on the sweet side with plenty of caramel. Big bitterness to the flavor, but also quite sweet. Pine, resin, grass, and citrus peel. Decent pineapple notes. Kind of muddled, otherwise good.

Bottle shared by jmborggren. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex resin, citrus and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy complex bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy complex bitter finish of medium to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Brewvival Trip Beer 9. Draft at the brewery. Pours a murky orange color with a large creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of intense resin hops with pine, citrus and tropical hops and caramel malts. Huge hoppy taste with notes of resin, herbal, vegetal and candied citrus. Pale malts. Medium bodied, faint booze. Different DIPA, but quite nice.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a near clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has some sweetalts with pine hops and a hint of grass. Flavor had line up front with more of a sweet grain and grassy finish.

Draft... Jupiter Craft Brewer’s Festival 2013... This beer rocks!… Deep, crystal clear, textbook amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Great retention. The bouquet is a grapefruit bomb with a sprinkling of cat piss and other assorted, dank, earthy notes. There are also mild components of biscuit and flowers. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with prickly carbonation. The flavor features an impressive toffee, caramel and honey malt backbone, but it only serves as a pedestal for massive citrusy and earthy hop bitterness. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. World class imperial IPA!

750 ml bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a clear bright orange amber color with a small, but lasting white head. The aroma has citrus, herbal and light pine hops with an sizable toasted malt backbone. The flavor leans more toward the malt side which isn’t bad, but I like my DIPA’s to have a bit more assertive hop bill. Toasted caramel malt with a balanced citrus, herbal, grassy hop presence. Moderate bitterness. Tasty, but I wanted more hops.

750 ml bottle via NC trade- thanks again, John! Pours a clear dark orange tea color with a thick off-white head that settles into an uneven film with a ring. Plenty of lace. Aroma of very herbal hops, with pine, oils, leaves, pepper, and some caramel and toasty malts. Flavor of peppery, herbal, oily hops, caramel malts, grapefruit peel, pine needles, and dry grains. Medium-bodied, with a dry, bitter mouthfeel that has a bitter push late but doesn’t linger too heavily. Really nice double IPA. Complex showcase of hops.
