Smooth roasty cocoa and malt with some warm vanilla. Light brown head and very dark body. Flavors of roasty cocoa and earthy dry malt with minor vanilla. Smooth and dry on the palate. TylerGreenDC (1143) - - JAN 22, 2016
Draft. Not much aroma. Lots of coffee flavor, kind of a dark-roasted Pacific coffee. Not much chocolate or layers. The alcohol is well-hidden and the finish is strikingly clean. But otherwise, kind of average. Leighton (23090) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2016
Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours black-brown with a thick, tan foam head. Decent beer, with a bit of chewy tar, sugary chocolate, light roast, molasses. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with light earthy bitterness, torched wood, chocolate, vanilla, dark bread. Good stuff on the whole. Bomber from 2013. Walnut with a fluffy khaki head. Mellow aroma of roast, cocoa and a little coffee. Taste is similar, but picking up some dark ripe fruit as well. Smooth and full bodied. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Overall a good imperial stout.

Bottle... Pours black with a mid-sized, creamy, deeply tanned head. Great retention. The roasty aroma expresses dark chocolate, espresso and fudge. Full-bodied with a silken mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor is burnt and bitter - charcoal, ash and scorched coffee. Lengthy, bitter, carbonic finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping! ads135 (5232) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - AUG 9, 2015
A solid stout. Really well balanced with a nice amount of toffee, chocolate, and cocoa. Tried at the brewery in 2015. Theydon_Bois (21794) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2015
Keg at the brewery, 17/02/15.
Light black topped with a decent tan swirl.
Nose is rich in malt, spice, chocolate, burnt toffee.
Taste comprises roast malt, charr, spice, chocolate.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Ok impy, a touch basic perhaps but an easy drinker. nearbeer (5709) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 1, 2015
750 ml. with label indicating 10.0% abv and bottling date of Dec 12, 2014. Big nose of semi-sweet chocolate, soy and an off-putting touch of rusty caramel. Look is opaque ebony with a creamy disc of foam on top. Tastes of soy, dark chocolate, mint, toffee and oxidization. Medium-heavy body is smooth with medium carbonation and has a good balance to all the big malts, never becoming sticky. The 10% is well disguised. jbruner (5563) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 25, 2015
Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with bubbly brown head. Aroma is tobacco and earth over roast and dark chocolate. Taste follows, today is subdued and earth comes out more. Big and thick mouth, booze is well hidden. A nice imperial stout, but nothing too exciting.
