3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL courtesy of GT. Thanks!
A: First, cork got-damn near killed me. While I can’t deduct points for that, beware when opening these things. Beer is a beautiful golden color with a 1/2" head. Falls of the glass. Randomly moving bubbles throughout.
N: Sour lemon zest, heavy on the biscuit, straw, and lots of esters. The blood orange and the rosemary are somewhat, suprisingly, muted.
T: Semi-sour blood orange, brett, and soap. Very, very estery and funky. Pepper corn and a slight salty cheese. Rosemary shows up inside of the aforementioned funk. Horse blankets. WIthout looking it up, I guessed this was meant to be closer to Orval rather than a saison.
M: Light and crisp,, medium bodied. Has that touch of oiliness while somehow still remaining chalky that I associate with saisons.
O: Solid effort all around, and not a beer I’d turn down on any occasion. That said, I don’t know if this is something I’d feel the need to seek, either.
Poured a straw yellow color with aromas of herbs, light citrus, orange zest, and some funk. Flavors were light rosemary, herbs, floral notes, some citrus and funkiness in the aftertaste, interesting beer, but it worked overall. alexsdad06 (10817) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 24, 2013
750 ml bottle shared by phaleslu. Pours a cloudy yellow golden color with a medium sized fluffy white head. The aroma and flavor have some tart citrus, hint of lemon, blood oranges, herbal notes, rosemary, nice florals, grassy, light yeasty notes, some dry zest. Interesting combinations. dimenhetfield (2554) - , Florida, USA - AUG 8, 2013
Sampled at a recent tasting. The orange flavor was very subtle to me but overall it seemed pretty well balanced and not too bad. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 19, 2013
750ml bottle. Opened to a very loud pop, but no ensuing gush. Hazy golden color with a large sized head. Herbal, yeasty, spices, brett, funky, and some fruitiness. phaleslu (10673) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 16, 2013
750 ml bottle from drowland- thanks, Danny! Cork scared me based on "Saint Somewhere" being on the label. Put my hand over it, and it started to force out but didn’t blast across the city, as per usual. Pours a hazy, pale straw color with a small white head that settles into a ring. Aroma has tons of herbs, lemon (I thought it leaned more toward that than blood oranges), bretty funk, floral notes, straw, coriander, doughy malts- wow, I couldn’t stop bringing this up to my nose. Floral notes in the flavor, with lemon, herbs, dry grains, funk, and straw. Light-bodied, with a dry, funky, lightly tart mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Funky, zesty, complex, and tasty. Perfect for the summer season. Great collaboration.

750ml bottle, shared by phaleslu. Totally hazy, kind of more pale golden color. Good pillowy half-finger white head, splotches and short ropes of lace. Very floral, lightly spicy taste, great nose. Lightly funky. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lighter, soft effervescent carbonastion. Lightly dry in the finish. Zesty, lightly sweet taste. Very zesty, I like that. Mild bitter. After hearing about the rosemary, I see it in the flavor, and very much appreciate it, works well with the citrusy flavors, but not too obvious. Delicious, complex, funky beer. b3shine (9150) - Indiana, USA - JUL 12, 2013
750 ml bottle to snifter (2012 vintage; shared by phaleslu). Looks good; a hazy dark yellow with white head that dissipates into lacing pretty quickly. Smells and tastes bretty and spicy with notes of citrus. Good on the palate. Enjoyable. Scopey (15725) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2013
Bottle shared by Mr drowland. It pours hazy golden with a thick white head. The nose is earthy, zesty orange, tangerine, mango, mild dough and faint herbal accents. The taste is smooth, earth, brett, hay, straw, white wine, zesty orange, light spice, minerals, candy and white grape skin with a dry finish. Medium+ body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Thankfully there is not too much rosemary! Nice body, depth and balance. Tasty. JAXSON (608) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Sweet extra labeled "gusher" thanks to GT. Pours apricot gold with an initially thick head that settles down quite a bit. Nose is a pleasantly refined herbal saison, brett yeast with light socky and citrus expressions. Mouth is light fruit and dry brett upfront, segueing into a strangely empty mid palate and herbal/bitter finish. Brett and citrus expression upfront is good, very rustic, back palate rougher with more hops. Body is light with good carbonation. Good overall, certainly missing something though. brokensail (16648) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Hazy light yellow pour with a white head. Nose is rather spice and herb forward. Lots of pepper, coriander, lemongrass, and rosemary. Some lemon, orange, and cracker malt. Dry flavor with some light Brett funk, leather, and grass. Lemongrass, lemon zest, pepper, coriander, and a bit of rosemary on the finish. Moderate orange, a bit of tartness, and a dry malt profile.
