At room temperature, a 2009 vintage. Cap came off with a quiet ’pffft’. Still in the glass, radiant, deep, golden amber, seemingly viscous as I swirled it. Nose of plump fruit, ripe and fell, a little musty old apples in there too with oaken wood, match sticks and soft hessian, strawberries and tart cranberries and just a smidge of white cheese. Unexpectedly spritzy on the tongue, a little life showing. Alcohol is immediately evident giving it a warming, vinous quality. Nice level of ripe apple pulp fills the mouth, the body is firm to oily. Notes of vanilla icecream and soft white cheese, the oaken wood of the nose shines through nicely as does that odd matchstick, toothpick sense. The swallow is quite warming and full of fruit. This has a great presence in the mouth. Lingers long on the palate, all the flavour in harmony. A great sipping cider. Not overly complex but wonderfully crafted. Very nice! Crisp fruity cider - lovely nose. In the mouth it’s also very crisp. Very fruity, some apple pips and skins too. No sign of 8.3% alcohol at all. Refreshing and uplifting.
Bottle @ Chris O’s. Thanks guys. Pours clear golden with no head. Sweet and ripe red apples. A bit of tartness. Ends really dry. Fine oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2011
