Anger pours a dark chocolate color with a thick dark brown head that leaves lacing everywhere. The aroma is sharp floral hops. Floral hops are the backbone of this beer. Overall this is an enjoyable brew. I would recommend you have one if you enjoy IPAs.

pours black with a thin tan head. aroma has charred notes, caramel, a touch of anise, and a bit of a magic marker note. flavor is roasty with good burnt bitterness...notes of anise and citrusy hops...thankfully no magic marker taste. mouthfeel is medium and silky with a dry burnt/bitter roasty/dark fruit/anise finish. 12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a large tan head. Aroma of floral and resinous hops, citrus, with caramel and roasted malts. Taste of upfront piney hops and citrus ending with bitterness and dark malts. A nice balance all the way through, very drinkable. milewide (2332) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Too much "Black" and too little "IPA". A decent brew, but leans too much on the dark malts. Almost a porter. JoeTheYounger (1195) - Lake Arrowhead, California, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Bottle fromMikem409. First bottle I?ve opened that had part of the glass top break and fell into the bottle. Black pour with creamy tan head. Aroma is piney hops and roast. Taste is nice roast and hints of biterness. Pretty good.

Had on tap for $5.99 a pint at Terry’s Terrace in Harrison Township (?), Michigan.
Just not as impressed as the majority of people here.
Appearance: Pitch black with a creamy finger or two of head. Pretty gorgeous, if I may say so. The lacing doesn’t last through the whole glass, but it’s nice looking regardless.
Smell: Quite interesting, like the taste is... smells like a stout or dark coffee with hops. Has roasted malts, coffee, and... hops.
Taste: A lot like the smell, but with tastes of char and smoke as well. The hops aren’t present initially, but kick in on the finish. It definitely has a different taste for the average craft beer drinker (whatever that means), but it’s certainly not an unpleasant one. I definitely preferred this beer when it was a little bit colder than room temperature -- once it warmed up, the alcohol could be traced, there was a warmth in the throat, the primary taste was that of smoked wood, and the bitterness really kicked in. I didn’t hate it, but it was certainly tastier within the first 15-20 minutes of having it, as it seemed to just be more balanced.
It isn’t my favorite of the style, but it has a unique taste to it... it had me thinking, and it really changes quite a lot the more it warms up. Wouldn’t be my go-to black ale, but it’s a very nice offering from a brewery that I have never heard of. Good going, Greenbush. Fukito (1064) - Santiago, CHILE - MAR 13, 2013
Opaque black color with a creamy medium beige head. Aroma is fruity, with some pineapple notes. Flavor is citrusy hopiness with some toasted malt-stout like notes, interesting bittersweet aftertaste. Medium palate, flavorful and gentle with medium to light carbonatation.

12oz bottle, pours a dark near black with tan head. Aroma is piney hops and some chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, citrusy hops, chocolate, bitter finish. polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Bottle. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, citrus hops and cereal malts. Black hue with an average tan head that mostly diminished and left decent lace. Flavor is medium sweet and very bitter. Palate is full bodied and water average. Overall a solid BIPA.
