2012-08-17. Black body with a nice tan head and lace. 4+ Interesting aroma, nice roast and green leafy funk. 7+ Flavour has sort of a dry roasty character, with mild leafy green hops that have a very interesting quality to it that defies my description, vaguely cocoa like but that is not really it. 8+ Smooth average plus to medium palate. 3+ A very solid black IPA. Quite nice. Growler, Campground Brewdown 2012

On tap at The Oak Cafe. Really nice and true to IPA with a clean hoppy finish, but plenty of dark malt and syrupy flavors up front. Pours black in a dark bar, with a nice head. salvaticas (780) - - FEB 11, 2013
On tap. Really interesting. Smooth, hoppy taste with a nice easy palate. Dark, coffee color. Doesn't taste as strong as it is.

Pure black. Very heavy smokey smell, with incredibly fresh hop notes popping through. Thick tan head. Fredis23 (564) - Hickory Hills, Illinois, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Pitch black, huge foamy tan head leaves lots of lacing. Pine aroma. Roasted malt with long lasting hoppy pine amd bitter finish. Medium body, easy to drink. Enjoyed it. Nice.

Pours a dark brown, almost black actually, with a full tan head that settles slowly. The aroma has lots of pine, roasted malts, coffee, mild smokiness, and some light floral notes. The taste is very roasted, while containing lots of pine, chocolate, and coffee. Plenty of hoppy bitterness with this one. Aftertaste is quite long, and it is a roasted pine flavor. Medium bodied, with a more thick texture, and big in lively carbonation. This is a pretty cool beer. If you take away all of the hoppiness, you would get a good stout. With everything going on in here, I find this very enjoyable. fraternie (1011) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 7, 2013
Big, smokey, roasted malt flavors are balanced effortlessly by a blast of spicy, cedary hops which linger long. Manages to be rich and filling yet crisp and refreshing all at once, with bitter dark chocolate notes adding late complexity. Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - NOV 1, 2013
Bottle. 11/2/13. Pours opaque brown-black with a thick, fluffy, chocolate head. Aroma is bitter hops, citrus, chocolate, coffee, graham cracker, grass. Smells like a really rich, beautiful CDA. Taste is dry, aggressive, bitter, malty, nice; coffee, cocoa, citrus, grass, bitter hops, creamy. The Crystal Malt really comes through. This is really tasty! Exquisite lacing; the kind you want! Medium carbonation. Full bodied. Really a great beer. Cancer4TheCure (14) - - JAN 7, 2014
A strong black IPA, from my favorite brewery. Flavorful and toasty without being too boozy or abrasive. Highly drinkable and lighter on the charred character prevalent in this style. One of my go-to sixers. kkleu357 (634) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 12, 2014
Darker black body. Looks kind of like a cola. Big hop aroma with some sweetness. Lots of chocolate taste. Good amount of hop flavor. Mouthfeel similar to coke.
