3.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark brown almost black with aromas of chocolate and malt. Roasted malts come out very strong in this beer. Palate feel is moist and slightly sweet. Grains are very present in every aspect of this beer as is some coffee. Overall this is very tasty and quite interesting.
Rated on 7-23-2015 at Acme Bar & Grill, Fort Wayne, IN. The appearance of this draft beer is a very small tan head with a long retention, opaque dark brown body and spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, oak, chocolate, caramel, bread, and honey. The flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, light bitterness, and some oak. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this is a medium sized beer. A good sipping beer with a lingering roastiness. It is a beer worth trying. thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 23, 2015
This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy finely sized very light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The complex aroma was malty smoky musty oak and woody. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a lingering malty aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of wood brown malt and malt. An OK brew just nothing special. crossovert (13833) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 21, 2015

Draft. Poured black color with medium brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate malt and grain aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration to long duration. My expectations where met with a very good stout.

From notes. 12 oz bottle shared during a sharing of the Advent Calendar (not finished) on March 15. The pour is black, with a dark khaki head, and no lacing to be found. The aroma is big on a roasted coffee. Behind the roastiness, there is a nice good caramel maltiness on the back. The taste has a nice roast dominance on the front with a good chocolate presence on the back end. The mouth feel is a little thin, but it coats the mouth well. The carbonation is definitely nice, and the aftertaste is lingering and dry. umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Tap at Pete’s Place. Pours black with a thick creamy head that barely moves. Leaves awesome lacing after each sip. Aromas are dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, flowers, and burnt wood. Taste is great mix of sweet creamy chocolate, bitter floral hops, and toasted wood. Very light coffee comes through on some sips too. Thick body. This stuff is awesome. Would love to try this with a barrel treatment. Hophaze (192) - South Bend, Indiana, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Tap at greenbush. Pots a dark dark brown almost black. Aroma of roasted malts and well balanced taste of oats, hints of chocolate. Great stout!!
