This beer was developed as a collaboration with Mark Richman, the lucky winner of the Taste of the Nation "brewer for a day" silent auction item. This is one monster of an imperial IPA, brewed with a bit of honey and beet sugar.

I've slowly been starting to enjoy IPA's more over the last year or so. Still not my go-to style, but I'm definitely sampling some quality brews! This beauty packs a wallop and it's a double IPA!

At Howells and Hood. In a snifter. Pours caramel brown with no head. Big malty brown sugar hop taste of a double IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Poured into pint glass. Little head and lacing. Rich deep brown color. Raisin aroma. Sits lightly on the tongue for imperial IPA. Dried fruity flavor up front that packs a punch to finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle @ Krg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- MFG:06.20.16 --- Aroma of dark malt. Clear bright amber brown color, beige head that stays at 1", strips of lace. Taste is malt and dark molasses, medium fizz, and a shot of hops to bring things well into balance. Then a brief burst of alcohol warmth. Nothing special here, just a strong, alcoholic IPA that is only okay.

T42 tasting on me Birfaday. Big thanks to Leighton. Very hazy amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is smooth, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Caramel - toffee malts, light creamy sweetness. Orange marmalade and mild hop spice. Soft dry finish. A bit malt forward and lacking any hop brightness, but it’s okay.

September 2016 - Bottle share at One Canada Square. As ’Greenbush Brother Benjamin’, 10.1%. Thanks LKS! Orange brown, hazy and still, foamy tan head leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is floral, chalky, touch of TCP, boiled sweets. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is sugar syrup, boiled sweets, more sugary than malty, pine and resinous hops, some tangy booze. Quite sweet. Alright for a booze and sugar bomb. (3.0)

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to LKS, 07/09/16. Murky amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is dank hop, herbal, straw, harsh citric rinds, caramel. Taste comprises bitter tropical fruits, orange rind, pine resin, sharp citric. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with aggressive hop bitterness. Ok DIPA if a touch overly harsh.

Bottle shared at the level 42 tasting 7/9/2016. A dull hazed amber brown coloured pour a fading halo of white head . Aroma is semi sweet jammy fruits, spicy wood, toffee, burnt. Flavour is nutty malts, apple, vanilla, mint, sticky jammy fruits, caramel, toffee. Little barley wine. Palate is medium sweet moderate carbonation. Nit a fan.

Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2016
Bottle shared in London in honor of Kenny’s birthday. Pours unclear ruby-orange with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has lots of toasted crackers, caramel, earth. Medium to heavy sweet flavour with lots of ripe, jammy citrus, orange, marmalade, earth, wood, caramel. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming and resinous on the finish, with lots of bready malts, earth, oily pine. So so overall.

Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2016
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours cloudy dirty amber with a small yellow - white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, malt - driven, caramel, toffee, butterscotch and sweet fruits. The taste is smooth, sweet, sticky, malt - driven, earthy, toasted grain, peach, apricot, nectarine, booze, lemonade, grapefruit, toffee and butterscotch with a dry finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet and malty. Fair.
