Bottle shared at schramm’s balcony bonanza. Poured a dark black colour with a tanned head. Nose of charred roasted, dark chocolate, spiced rye, light freshness of mint (Which is weird), caramel, and tobacco. Taste is spiced rye, chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel, but a light hot finish

Learninbeer (652) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - APR 8, 2017
The aroma is licorice, chocolate, coffee, rye, Pours black with big creamy tan head and excellent lacing. The taste is a light sweet with some bitter at the end. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. A damn good beer!

Booga (114) - Michigan, USA - OCT 30, 2016
Brilliant piece of work from the guys down in Sawyer. Bottle dated 12/14. Pour to snifter. Viscous dark and inky with 1/2 finger tight chocolate head. Booze in the nose but not overpowering. Nice dark creamy base beer with a nice bite and bitterness from the eye barrels. Small distribution. People outside of this area probably don’t know what they’re missing.

On tap at 8 Degrees Plato Detroit pours an oily black with a ring of brown head. Nose of booze, molasses, licorice, inky, mild cake. Flavor has more complexity, pencil lead, pepper, ink, molasses, cake, mild smoke, coffee, some vanillin, lightly boozy. Full bodied, sticky finish.

4.2
superspak (6086) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - APR 16, 2016
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled in 11/2015. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and rye whiskey barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate roasted bitterness and rye/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, toffee, cream, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, light smoke, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and rye whiskey barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and spicy rye balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/oak bitterness as well. Light-medium carbonation and full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding barrel aged imperial cream stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt ad rye whiskey barrel flavors; and very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle given to me by a friend. Darkest brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, malt, chocolate and caramel. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some booziness and roast before a creamy finish.
