10/4/14. Sampled at Bill’s Oktoberfest party, I believe. Black pour with a small tan head, mild lacing. Roasted malts on the aroma, ashiness, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel. Malts popping in the flavor as well, coffee, chocolate cookies, caramel, ash and roast. Not bad. charule (2286) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 11, 2015

12 oz bottle poured into a sniffer. Appearance is deep brown color with medium, creamy beige head, good lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and spice. Taste is dominated by the roasted grains, coffee, cocoa with some fruity acidity and mild bitterness. Palate is full-bodied, soft texture, acidic finish. Deep black body, thin ring of creamy brown head, mild roast nose, super thick mouthfeel, like drinking a milkshake, sweet residual sugars, dark chocolate finish, alcohol very present in flavor arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2014
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black pour with lacing caramel head, aroma brought brownie, dark chocolate, coffee, hints of slight bitter spicy hops, slight cocoa powder, nice. Taste is a mix of dark cocoa, roast and coffee, some spicy and earthy tones, hints of brownie batter, finishing sweet. I dig this, nice mix of roast and sweetness, and unfortunate ashy flavor comes through at the end however.

Draft at the source. From notes. Absolutely malt dominated. Loads of Roasty coffee, dark chocolate and burnt caramel. Great. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 25, 2014
Note" the word "Robust" does not appear on the label, however it does describe the brew as "A stout-ish porter with a touch of porter-ish stout." Okay, I buy that - whatever it means. It’s got a handsome pour, an opaque mahogany body with a creamy light brown head and provides sheets of lace. The aroma has a dark chewy malt, an earthiness, a hint of the floral, and some licorice. The flavor has dark caramel drizzled with bittersweet chocolate, an earthy/woody bitterness, a hint of lactic sourness, and a mild maltose sweetness. This is a tasty brew that bears repeating. Bottle from Binny’s in Bloomingdale, IL. Very dark dense looking pour with a small but dense head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasty malts. Good heft to the palate. Very nice brew. Christpuncher (3191) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 12, 2014
bottle pour black with a tan head. bitter roasted coffee flavor with a bitter finish. one of the best porters i have had to date. smells of roasted black coffee had at home. edwardbass (858) - Illinois, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Dark brown color with a tiny tan head. Aroma is a bit lost on me, but that’s nothing new for me - a bit of roastiness. Taste is coffee, roasted grain, a bit of chocolate and just enough bitterness. I’m not a devout fan of porters, but this is really good.
