Bottle to rocks glass. Reminds me of North Coast Old No 38 Stout but I like this better. Roasty and ashy, very drinkable but extremely full flavored. Delicious. hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 17, 2013
12oz bottle. Poured a black color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, coffee, earthy, and more roast. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle:   Nearly black, moderate foamy light beige head, nice lacing.   Sweet roasty nose, slight lactose.   Sweet start, roasted malts, lactose sweetness.   This is pretty tasty.   Not a lot of bitterness.   What is there seems to come from the roastiness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Slight chocolate on the exit, otherwise sweet roasted malts, lactose sugar, and light nuttiness.   Like a soft Porter crossed with a Milk Stout.   Pretty tasty!   Thanks Kevin! The beer is near black and opaque with a soapy beige head that displays excellent retention. The aroma offers bitter chocolates, roast, bread, alcohol. Decent flavor. A bit too bitter and ashy for me. Chocolaty throughout. Rally dry finish with some buttering hops. This was ok. brokephibroke (315) - Mead, Colorado, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Trade via Siphium. Dark opaque pour with a large dark tan fluffy head. Coffee dominates the nose with a little spruce hiding in the back. Roasty with hoppy bitterness and metal. I think the metal hides some of the potential subtleness here, but the hop linger is very nice!

Pours black with low beige head. Some lacing. Aroma is of vegetal stuff (resin), roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Taste is of chocolate, coffee, sugar. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Overall: "Ok" stoutish beer. A tad heavy on sugar. Not bad. czar (8996) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 14, 2013
post-cascade + upright tasting sessions - ’coz we’re porks. pours clear dark brown with a light beige head, some retention. roasted acidity, chocolate, ashes, vanilla, hint of sweetness - lactose. moderate carbonation, medium body, slightly harsh mineral-resinous finish. o-k. tom10101 (6029) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 13, 2013
Bottle (12 oz). Extra from Alefish, thanks! Dark brown with a small beige head and little lacing. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, ashes and light fruity notes. Taste is moderately sweet and almost the same as the aroma. Medium body. A tad too watery. Moderate carbonation. Fair Porter, but nothing worth seeking. Ok balance. Not really complex. A tad watery. 355 ml bottle shared with Tom and chums. Pours a reddish-orangeish black with a short lived beige head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, dark fruits. Flavor is ash, vanilla, dark chocolate, dish cleaning water (post doing-the-dishes). Ashy finish. Light to medium body, weak carbonation. Not so good. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - AUG 6, 2013
Bottle. Very dark brown, thick, roasted & coffee flavors. Smooth and thick, reminiscent of a stout with the hoppiness of a porter. Very good, and a little different.
