Pour from bottle to GB snifter. Generous 2-finger khaki head that turns to persistent lace on the edge of glass. Taste is dominated by coffee. Bitter finish. Good stuff.

bottle - Pours black with a small tan head. It has a roasted malt and rich coffee aroma. The flavor is sweet up front with coffee and chocolate leading into a more bitter, dark roast finish. Medium to full body. Very tasty.

This has something like a mild whiskey barrel character to it, not bad. Its deep, dark brown w/ a thick brown head. Its nose is all coffee roast and when you taste it, some sweetness brings out some pleasant nutty oxidation and a touch of cherry, presumably from the yeast. It is big and creamy but not undrinkable w/ its only real flaw being an ever so slight ashy note. If you like big stouts, this should be right up your alley.

On tap at Radicle Effect, pours a very dark brown nearly black with a thin head, super strong coffee aroma with a chocolate backing, flavor has a strong coffee front end with a chocolate finish, mouthfeel is really nice, super freaking good.

Bottle. Pours black. Small tan head. Big roasty coffee aroma. Taste of coffee and milk chocolate. Very nice beer from what is becoming one of my favorite Michigan breweries. Need to make a road trip to this place.

Bottle @ Home. Just about black in color with a massive khaki head. Roast and burnt sugar dominate. A bit of coffee, some licorice, and a ton of ash. The flavor is pretty bitter and roast. Tons of burnt bread and sugar. Somewhat sugary, too. Theres a light nutty quality, a bit of ash, and some molasses. Way overcarbonated, too.

Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and faint pumpkin pie spice. Pours dark and clear. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, oak barrel, lemon, leather, and butter dark malt. Starts out sweet and ends with a bitter, tannic roasty-ness. Not bad, but would be very glad or if there was a smoother finish.
