jstraw (1966) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Draft at Jerrys. Dark brown with good, foamy, tan head / Toasty nose of roast barley, weed, pine, and chocolate / Medium body, a touch thin, malty with some chew, some sweetness but mostly dry with lots of bitterness / Astringent flavors of dark roast coffee and grass, with notes of lemon / Not bad, but ultimately awkward. No Belgian character.

Had this at the brewery, and I enjoyed it. Poured a nice murky brown color and fairly noticeable alcohol, but it was more sweet with yeast, malt flavors rather than heavy hops.

574deadzone (1393) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAR 8, 2012
On tap. Pours a darker amber to brown with no head at all. Nose is sweet caramel and molasses, with some brown sugar and spice with slight clove. Taste is pretty sweet with a touch of tart and a low, low bitterness. Palate features some alcohol heat, thin and not heavy at all for the abv. Overall, I liked this one. It has almost a dessert-like sweetness, but the palate wasnt very strong considering how big the beer is. Still, a nice one that I would definitely try again.

drdisque (797) - Illinois, USA - AUG 4, 2015
On tap at the brewpub. Rich malty complex and fruity. Medium body. Good amount of spice. Was worried this would be a weak IPA masquerading as a Belgian when the called it a "Belgian Hybrid " but was pleasantly surprised.

Tap. Dark brown-black. Lingering, small layer of head. Boozey, bourbon-esque nose. Tastes strongly of booze, raisin, some fig.
