This draft brew from a restaurant was served at room temperature and poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind no visible carbonation semi-opaque except at the edges brown colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was vinous and woody. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice vinous flavor contained notes of brown sugar and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2016
Thanks Joel! Poured very deep ambery-brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma picked up toasted raisins and dates joined by a touch of cherry. The flavor found warm dates molasses, and caramel at the core with light berries and peppery spices around.. a touch tart through the finish. Heavier-bodied and quite creamy on the palate.. nice balance.. well done! hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 9, 2015
12oz pour at the grafton pub. Very strong malt flavor, and well hidden alcohol. Dark amber in color with a good head and good lacing. Very hoppy and malty. njager246 (699) - grand rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 26, 2014
Nice malt dominant aroma, sweet taste with some biscuit and some dark fruits, nice beer Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - APR 15, 2014
On tap: The aroma consists of chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, citrus, and alcohol. It’s a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small tan head that leaves behind a lot of sticky lacing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a moderate chocolate, lighter caramel, and grape. The finish has light-moderate citrus/grapefruit hops, light roast, dark fruits, and alcohol. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Sour, bitterness, malty, dried fruit taste. Great on a cold day, alcohol warms nice. crossovert (14358) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 19, 2014
Draft. An extremely intense brew. Some fusels, huge maltiness, some fruit and spice. koleminer20 (4374) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 25, 2013
12 oz bottle shared at a tasting on December 15. The pour on this is a dark ruby color, with a little foggy tendency to it. There is also a surprising lack of head with no lace to be found. There is a pretty complex nose. Citrusy hops, caramel, maybe a little dark fruit and a presence of alcohol. The flavor is just a little less complex, with a bitterness that I’m not overly fond of. There is a booziness that comes through and the finish is a touch dry. The mouth feel and subsequent aftertaste almost fall to a slight awkwardness to the beer. hoffbier (28) - NAPERVILLE, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2013
Dark and warming on a snowy day. Rich concentration of dark dried fruits and malt with a strong bold finish. Hophaze (192) - South Bend, Indiana, USA - DEC 11, 2013
Bottle. Barrel aged ursus. Pours a little flat, not much head but decent lacing. Aroma of bourbon, dried fruit. Very smooth finish. No burn. Balance well.
