Clear amber of color with a longlasting off white head. A weak aroma of sweet malt. A flavor of malt, sweets, bisquit, apples and weak bitter notes. downender (8584) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2008
Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 18/3/08. I tired to approach this one with an open mind...honest. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of sickly caramel and oily hops. The flavour was cloyingly sweet with a whiff of sulphur and a slightly metallic finish. Served in decent condition, so no excuses - poor! berkshirejohn (6444) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2008

Amber color, small off-white head. Woody-grassy hoppy nose. Woody hoppy flavor with caramelly-malty sweetness. Flavors of mould - propably this cask was not at its best. Some dusty hops in the aftertaste.
At Standing Order, Edinburgh. bread, brown, cloudy, medium body, average carbonation, a decent beer. leaparsons (10496) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2007
Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Amber brown with a cream head. Aromas are toffee malts and citrus with some spices. Flavours are toffee and caramel malts with pear. Quite smooth with hints of chocolate and a decent fruitiness. Lightly bitter on the finish. Clean and refreshing. larsga (7508) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2007
Thin coarse offwhite head. Amber body. Earthy wooden lemony aroma. Dry fruity lemony tea and wood taste with earthy malty notes. Soft, smooth, clean mouthfeel. Some sweetness. Dry roasty earthy lemony aftertaste lingers. Nice session beer. (0.5pt cask at Anglesea Arms.) illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 15, 2007
Cask at Dickens Tavern in London, near Paddington Station. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma has lots of toffee malts. Malt backbone of toffee, caramel, and grains that is balanced by a mild herbal bitterness. A tad sweeter and fruitier than many of the other bitters I sampled. Subtle tea flavors on the finish. Not too shabby.
