bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAY 1, 2017
Cask sample from pin keg, The Monks Walk, Beverley, April 2017. - An odd mix of earthy like Franconian Kellerbier, with a tart buttermilk edge to the butter toffee malts and a quick herbal finish. If the evening had been longer I would have delved into a halfpint to try and find out what that fascinating green tartness was all about...

Clear copper with tan head. Aroma of caramel malts. Tastes light caramel sweet with a little hop bitterness to balance, some wooden or nutty notes. Simple, but good.

PilsnerDoctor32 (263) - madrid, SPAIN - MAR 3, 2017

Cask at Dandelion, Philadelphia. Colour is clear orange with almost no head. Aromas and flavours: Harshness, some ripe fruits, tartness and some malts. Pretty old condition.

rodbod (357) - Motherwell, SCOTLAND - OCT 19, 2016
On cask at the Corryvreckan, Oban. Pours a clear dark amber, with a short lived white head which leaves lacing. Not much on the nose - in fact nothing at all. No, wait, there’s a wee bit of sweet maltiness. Taste is soft, light sweet caramel malt, floral hops, very traditional hop notes in the finish ie medium bitterness, slightly metallic, nothing fruity). Palate is the best thing about this beer - it’s refreshing, rounded, and clean in the finish. A very solid traditional beer.
