"Abbot Ale is the culmination of knowledge and skills that have developed over centuries of experience. Brewed longer to a unique recipe using pale, amber and crystal malts, making it a full flavoured, smooth and mature beer. This irresistible ale has masses of fruit characters, a malty richness and superb hop balance."

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 14/20

Can. Pours a clear golden brown with a lasting head. Aroma is quite bland. Flavor is a good balance between the hops and malts with the malts providing a sweetness in the finish. Very low carbonation. Overall a decent ESB but not one that I would seek out.

tfontana (1002) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 12, 2017
On tap in nonic pint glass at British Beer Co. Appearance is clear amber without sparkle, finger-width creamy off-white head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is light fruit, grain. Taste is light fruit from the European hops, caramel malt and earth. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and malty, crisp finish. Overall, representative of the style with nice mix of hop fruitiness and dryness mixed with the malts.

Pours amber red with average head that leaves bit of lacing behind. Aroma is plum, raisin, raisins and sweet grain. Taste is sweet malts, dark fruits and a creaminess. Finishes fairly blandly.

Clear amber color, medium beige head. Aroma hops and caramel. Taste bitter with fruity and caramel notes. One of my favourite English bitters from Lidl.
