3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nitro can version served in an English pint glass. Pours a deep, clear gold, just shy of copper in color. A white pillowy head that slowly thins out, leaving excellent retention behind. Initial aroma of apples at first, followed by butter toffee. Breadiness becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Taste is subtle and balanced, right on point for an English pale ale. Flavor of toasted malts and mild hops are evenly balanced, making for a slightly sweet, barely bitter experience. However, the aroma of apple makes it into the flavor just slightly--making you think of a cider, just for one moment. Mouthfeel is smooth, but not quite as velvety as one might expect given the nitrogen widget. Some carbonation is noticeable. In sum: I rather like this beer. For me, it’s an exemplar of the English ale style.
Terrible mix of caramel, malt, iron and flowers in the aroma. Brilliant copper color with minimal white to zero head. Caramel taste, sweet with only a hint of bitterness. Watery, average to lively carbonation. //bottle dtkor (2) - - DEC 23, 2017 does not count
I like this beer. It has a full flavour and at 5% it is very drinkable. It looks good in a glass, and it is one of my top choices from the supermarket shelves.

Bottle - light copper with decent initial head. Good mouthfeel. Easy drinking, with fruity caramel and good bitter finish. Ok.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Decent on cask but bottle is thin and quite tasteless in comparison. Rating from pre RateBeer days, taken from notes in my 1001 Beers book, where I gave this a 2/5. klukas (393) - Rijeka, CROATIA - NOV 28, 2017

Can from shop in Santa Ponca in Mallorca. Pours Amber colour with small white head, fairly good head retention. Nice sweet caramel malty aroma. Sweet malty flavour, all European hops, earthy, piney, not much citrus, a little watery. Quite a pleasant beer tomandoaltura (363) - - NOV 20, 2017

Pours a ruddy iced tea color from a tap. Smells sort of like cool weak tea as well, but the flavor is more like weak coffee, or like water run through a coffee maker with no grinds in it, just a hint of the baked on shmeg inside the machine. Not good. Iznogud (4991) - CROATIA - OCT 2, 2017
Bottle, 500 ml from Vrutak, Zagreb. Pours copper with small white head. Malty, some fruit, spices, caramel, watery. Quite bland. Light to medium bodied.
