Bottle with nice label. Hoppy and soupy - thick viscous and oily. Not bad but a bit 2-D - cloying after the second.

Brewed at the St Edmund Brewhouse, GK's craft brewery. 330ml dark bottle, filtered, in a Greene King "Speciality Craft Collection" box with an unbranded glass. This leans too much into the hop, and not enough into the malt for my taste. The malt is a little too lean and clean, and the hops are just too gritty. It's not over-hopped like some of the American style beers, but it is over-hopped for my personal taste. I prefer to taste the malt than the hops. Each to their own. But it is drinkable, and there's a fruity quality to it that's attractive. But I think this falls between two stools, and will please neither the traditionalist nor the craft beer lover..... Actually, the more I drink this the more I like it......

A: Clear gold with a small white head N: Pine resin and some faint orange T: Resin again. Nice bitterness P: Decent IPA, if a bit one-dimensional

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2018 Sweetish caramel and honey notes with a fruity finish. Pale goldish amber in color. Near to no head.

JaKeAFC (1330) - ITALY - JAN 25, 2018
33cl bottle from tosano. Pours clear gold to light amber, fizzy, short bubbly head, thin retention, lacing. Smell is hoppy and citrusy. Aroma: pale/caramel malts, light chalky, vaguely fruity (pear, passionfruit, apple), flowers, unclear grassy hops, dry hopping, light spice (cinnamon, nutmeg), grapefruit, citrus peel. All this sadly faint. Taste is mild sugary at first then very sharp, aggressive metallic bitterness. Solvent notes in the finish, slick texture, bitter finish mild sour. There are interesting flavors and complexity, but it fades away immediately and doesn't remain on the tongue, finish is so short.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2017 Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a fading sudsy off white head. Aroma is of honey, caramel, biscuit, herbal, floral, light pine. Taste is of treacle, toffee, medicinal, floral, herbal, slight bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

330ml Bottle: Pours a clear golden with thin white head that does not retain. Citrus and floral arromas with some biscuit to balance. Floral flavours dominate with some citrus and bread crust. High bitterness that is not overpowering. Medium carbonation, medium bodied. Overall a nice DIPA that has is well balanced.

26.12.2017 (trappist glass, 330ml) Look: Clear, pure syrupy caramel/maroon liquid - no head at all // Aroma: Faint fruits, malts, hops, cardboard // Mouthfeel: Slightly oily, low carbonation, lite // Taste: Hoppy strike, some sweet malts and alcohol, paper, and then a buildup of bitter, piney, herbal aftertaste, grapefruit; some metallicness // Overall: Not a fan of the herbal notes, but it is different from the IPA's I've drunk so far which were mostly Croatian

SVD (2275) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 15, 2017

AtronSeige (1827) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - DEC 9, 2017
Aroma: Medium berries, earthy. Medium-light citrus, pithy. Appearance: Brilliant, golden body. Small, white head. Good retention. Lacing. Small to fine bubbles. Flavour: High bitterness, Medium-high citrus, pith. Medium berries, earthy. Medium-light bready. Dry finish with lingering citrus, bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Good hop presentation in flavour and aroma. The malt notes are quite subdued, but the backbone/support is good. Can do with more complexity. 330 ml bottle, poured.
