A perfectly balanced award winning beer, characterised by its hoppy taste and aroma that comes from the use of Challenger and First Gold hops which are combined with pale and crystal malts.

Clear amber. A: medium sweet malts, some malt bitterness. T: ditto, with strong metal taste. Zero development, medium malty bitter finish. Rubbish.

I dont know the history behind this beer and maybe at some point in time it was considered hoppy but it barely even passes for a bitter in the present day. Very weak hop AND malt aromas. This is really just a step above a typical pale lager. Not really much to say here.............some very light biscuit and caramel malt flavor I suppose.

Cmon England, this isnt an IPA by your standards either, and you know it! Shared from a pint bottle into nonic half-pint glasses. It poured a crystal-clear orange amber colour with weak off-white foam which immediately dissipated. Weak aromas of mushy grain, almost no hop or yeast impression whatsoever. Flavour was equally underwhelming, still no hops, and although its fresh it already tastes oxidized with that mass-produced metallic bite. None of those great crisp, biscuity English grain traits, none of the glorious English hop essence. Just plain unpleasant, a real missed opportunity. Not an IPA, not really even an ESB. We know you guys can do better.

Served in a tulip from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear amber colour with an off-white head which disappears rather quickly. Aroma is caramel, toffee, peach and some grassy notes. Taste is rather flat with not much going on there - some caramel and stale tea (?) notes, bitter-sweet but on a dull side. Watery body with very little carbonation. Dull and unimpressive.

Nice deep amber/copper colour with tight head. Mild aroma of sweet malt and hint of hops. Taste to follow gentle toffee malt and fruit with a nice dry bitter bite. Easy drinking.

I was surprised to even find an IPA in London... then I came across this 3.6% beauty. Strong as hell for these people but this damn thing is bad. Its sweet and light and thats it.

Can shared thanks to sjogro. Clear amber, lasting white head. Wort, lots of caramel, tea, light peach, some grassy hops. Under medium sweet and light bitter. Under medium bodied with weird slick feel and no carbonation. Dont like it at all.
