Greene King IPA Gold is a light, refreshing golden ale that truly brings out the best in the unique and aromatic Savinsjki Goldings hop variety. The craftsmanship in this beer lies in the late hopping which creates a perfect blend of tropical fruits, mango and spicy notes and delivers a beer with a clean bitter taste and a crisp dry finish.

Clear pale golden color, medium sized white head. Malty, sweet, caramel, biscuit, floral hoppy scent. Malty, mineral, a tad buttery, herbal hoppy taste. Mineral, herbal hoppy, some butter aftertaste. Medium light with high CO2 mouthfeel, low bitterness. Fairly dry finish.

F: big, white, average retention. C: gold, clear. A: malty, caramel, floral, fruity, citrus. T: malt, caramel sweetness, sweet grassy, bread, bit of lemon, medium body, medium carbonation, must be properly cold to be so-so drinkable, why IPA nobody knows, 0,5l bottle from Sainsbury’s supermarket, Camden, London.

Bottle from Tesco. As soon as this was opened I knew it was going to be ropey. Aroma was musty and old. Taste was pretty dire; earthiness and not much else. Thin and unexciting Drain pour about 3 mouthfuls in.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - A very pleasant beer. Hops and an underlying floral flavour. It could have probably coped with a bit more chilling, but it was still very nice and a pleasant surprise.

Nice Gold colour thinish head. Sweet fruity aroma. Taste is nice sweet malt with citrus fruitiness and dryness but not too strong/overpowering so a nice easy drinker.

Pours a pale blonde colour. Aroma is of fag ash. Some Kentish hops and more fag ash on the taste. Ok to drink but a bit would be nicer if it didn’t taste of discarded Benson and Hedges

Clear 500 ml bottle, from a corner shop in London. ABV is 4.1%. Golden colour, large white head. Heineken-like aroma of lightstruck hops, not unpleasant though, also hints of toffee. Fairly fresh and refreshing flavour, not very exciting, but not bad.
