Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Apr 2010 - Dark Reddish-Brown in colour. Malty; toasty/roasty malts, caramel, toffee. Fruity; slightly sour fruit. Hoppy; some earthy hops. Malty fruity throughout. Much better than I expected. Drinkable. (2010-04)

Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear ruby in colour with a thin creamy buff head. Deep plummy fruit notes in the lingering malty aroma. Silky smooth creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Complex mixed malts gives a vinous clootie dumpling flavour to the booming mouthfeel. Rip figs, smooth caramel, maple syrup and moist raisins give a rich sweetness into the aftertaste as hop resins struggle to be located anywhere in this. Clear medium to dark amber brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, spicy, dried fruity, glue notes, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dried fruity, phenol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Some fruit aroma. Mid dark brown coloured a little rich and sweet on the palate and fruity with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a malt finish.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks.Rich mahogany colour with a thin beige head. Rich and fruity and rather tasty. For all our collective hatred of GK they still pull one out of the bag every once in a while. Good biscuit malt base with lots of caramel on top and a lick of grassy hops in the finish. Well made and enjoyable but until GK pull their finger out and do things properly (realeasing Suffolk Strong in its unblended parts should be the very least...) then call still cock off, the set of twunts. Hand pulled at the Figure of Eight, Birmingham. Dark, with shafts of bronze. Nasty. Berries, licorice, sourness. Don’t like licorice. Tastes like a strong ale gone wrong. Probably full of subtle flavours, but the initial flavour kills me - like walking into a hot room, where everyone starts shouting at you.
