Cask, Free Press Cambridge. Deepish brown mahogany colour, white foam. Expectations were low but this was actually in pretty good nick and I quite enjoyed it, some chewy malts and just enough bitterness to keep it drinkable. I guess the GK aversion to wasting money on anything as frivolous as hops matters less in a mild, and the fermentation here felt a bit cleaner too. saxo (20113) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - OCT 14, 2017

UPDATED: APR 13, 2018 13/4/2018. Cask at the Free Press, Cambridge. Pours dark ruby brown with a lasting bubbly/creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, lightly roasted malt, dark fruit, hint of chocolate and nut. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, soft to flat carbonation. One of GK's best. Cask @ Junction Inn, Southampton. Brown body with a light beige head. Quite nice aroma of roasted malt, smoke and dry fruit and some yeast. Flavor is smooth, mild, dark roasted malt, dry fruit, bread, biscuit and hint of brown sugar. Light bodied and average aftertaste. A very nice and smooth version of Mild, pretty enjoyable if you appreciate the style (and know what it’s about). ManVsBeer (11966) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2015
Cask @ The Pumphouse, Liverpool. A very dark clear red with a creamy, slightly off-white head. Has a dominant floral taste, quite bushy and dry in this respect with a similar nose. Has a very light texture but not one that feels unhealthy when in the palate.

Deep chestnut with a tan head. Quite sweet with strong toffee notes. Some fruitiness too, but this is very thin and not entirely pleasant. AshtonMcCobb (7143) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 19, 2014
On cask at the Haymarket.
Appearance - chestnut with a copper tinge and a decent head.
Nose - delicate nuts and toffee.
Taste - mostly caramel perhaps some nuts again so verging on praline.
Palate - light to medium bodied with soft round sweet texture and a reasonably balanced finish. A bit thin in parts though.
Overall - solid and quite enjoyable. allmyvinyl (11498) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 17, 2014
Cask at Haymarket. Quite a pale red-brown for a mild, expected it to be darker. Thin off-white head. Fruity aromas, light roast malt. Taste is sweet, light nuttiness. Yep, Mild. jjsint (3786) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2013
Cask at the Clarendon Arms, Cambridge. Dark brown, like the hair of a temptress. Aroma is chocolate, sweet coffee. Sweet taste. Classic mild. Pleasant and refreshing like few beers are. Seek it out. HenrikSoegaard (14861) - Randers, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2013
