Niet eens zo slecht. Moutig, beetje droog. Helder bier. De geur is licht fruitig.

Gangstergafje (1189) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 19, 2017
The beer looks nice, like a good German lager beer should look like. The color of the beer is golden yellow. The beer is quite clear, accept for a little tiny haze. On top of the beer a nice rough layer of white foam is formed. Foam retention is bad. It collapses quickly, leaving nothing at all. The smell of the beer is nice. It isn’t very special, just a simple German lager. There is quite a strong malty base. It has some sweeter touches to. On top of that there is a nice hoppy bitterness and slightly sour twist. A nice little fruitiness. The taste is pretty much the same. Simple, but not bad. Nice maltiness, hoppy bitternes and acidity and a nice alcohol flavour. There is also a sulfery Dortmund thing going on. Nice beer, good for thirst. The palate is simple. Medium body, low carbonation. The finish has some nice hops and bitterness. Good, but simple beer.

Bottle from pub. Golden beer, small head. Aroma is grain, malt, sweet. Taste is the same, average beer, drinkable,.

anstei (2470) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - SEP 24, 2016
Bottle. I can see the faint hint of smoky dryness, but also just a tad of butter. Besides that indeed rather malty and oily. Light sweetness, matching well. Lively carbonation, light body, yet not water at all. Nice.

Tap. Orange-golden color with white head. Aroma is sweetish malts, citrusy, grassy hops. Taste is butter, fruchtgummi, overall quite sweetish, but also refreshing. Medium carbonation. Interesting.

rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 17, 2016
Draught at the bierstube in Bamberg. First beer during Bamberg-trip 2016. Clear deep golden beer with a nice offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, cereal, biscuits, some grassy hops. Bready flavor, caramel, cereal almost papery notes, some grassy hops. A bit too heavy on the bread.

Radek Kliber (7470) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - JUN 14, 2016
Where and how: Bottle 500ml in Bamberg
Aroma: Hallertau hops up front, vibe of fresh meadow with soft golden malts as base. Clean job. 7+
Appearance :
Top: medium sized, white, long lasting. Left rings on glass.
Base: clear gold.
Palate : medium thinner body. Frisky carbonation, beyond that with milder qualities.
Taste: Reminded me more of good Polish Jasne Pelne beers. Simple, refreshing and clean. I like my Helles beers to be softer, more delicate.
other notes Not bad by any means but I am not sure why this one is in top 50 for style.

sturmthis (1149) - Bavaria, GERMANY - APR 22, 2016
On tap. Dark golden color with one finger head. Earthy and slight forest berries taste. Pretty good.
