Served in a ceramic mug with a soft white head. A touch of hops in the flavor and a mineral character to the taste. Well balanced with a nice hop presence.

bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2013
Draught at brew pub in Bamberg several times, but most recently in November 2012, when it was a diacetyl bomb and difficult to finish. Thankfully a walk to the nearby Special keller and the excellent offerings there, restored my appetite for Bamberg’s beers.

BeerViking (5042) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2013
Draught at the brewpub, in a Stein, but dark gold with a thick white head and a malty nose. Body is rich for a helles, lightly spicy and dry and just a bit nutty.

500mL thanks to Ruben and my little sister! Fresh from Bamberg. Pours a sparkling deeper golden to amber. Thick, rocky, buttermilk foam. Very good retention and webby lacing. Nose is honey biscuit, lemon detergent, moving thankfully to walnuts and honey malt. Taste up front is heavy buttery biscuit, moving to rich amaretto and marzipan, some present sweet banana flambee, mild young coconut. Palate is nutty, spicy, fairly silky and rich. Very nice.
