Imperial India Pale Lager
We celebrated our third anniversary with the release of this India Pale Lager. Our IPL is brewed with German pilsner malts and hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, Galaxy, Equinox, and Citra. This IPL took four weeks to produce – twice as long as an IPA – and we think it’s worth the wait…like any Great Ketch. Cheers!

Sampler at brewery. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Nice floral notes on the nose and tongue. Finished clean. Pretty quaffable.

One of eight samples tasted while at the tap house. Everything tasted was good to excellent (Captain's Daughter!). Fantastic place.

Can to lager glass, the appearance was a golden crisp color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Trickling lace.
The aroma had some sweet corn blending with some grassy and piney hops. Little bit of hop spice at the very end flowing over some bready malts.
The flavor was moderately sweet with the hop spice coming in and allowing some bitterness riding along to flow on into the aftertaste and finish.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good India pale lager. I’d have again.

Bebum (1101) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 29, 2017
Clear, deep straw color, tall lasting head. Very full body for a lager, dense flavor, big mouthfeel with strong heat and carbonation, lingering palate. Bitter but balanced by just right sweetness and crispness. Delicious and intense hoppy flavors, resiny, grapefruity. My idea of a lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sample at the source. The beer is a clear gold with a white head of foam. The aroma has orange zest and esters of clove and spice. Sweet and spicy taste. Medium body and high carbonation.

Can. Pours a clear gold. Dry taste and mouthfeel. Some bittering hops, but not lots of floral aroma. OK, but not great.

BiddleBrau (1238) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2016
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2016 Growler from brewery. Hazy straw yellow thin head but laces glass. Pine aroma. Dry hop spiciness and good mouth feel. Earthiness is interesting, not to style but pleasant. Hops linger but appropriately so.
