One bottle from BOTW. I closed the pool for the season tonight. After I cleaned up I relaxed with this very good Hefe. Citrus/lemon in the aroma and flavor. Did not need to add any. Very good. Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 13, 2006
Murky gold with a bubbly, white head. Moderate lace. Hoppy aroma of citrus and wheat. Some fruity notes, but not a lot. A slight sourishness is there as well. The flavor is comprised of bitterness and citrus. Some banana flavors and a dash of spice. A silky mouthfeel accompanies a lasting yeast and banana flavor at the end. marchcow (664) - Coralville, Iowa, USA - AUG 8, 2006
Citrus orange aroma, head dissipated quickly, yellow murky beer. Flavor is light fruity and sweet. Slightly watery on the palate. Would have prefered a bit more body but not bad overall. It seems to taste better in the second half of the bottle as your buds get used to it. DocLock (10646) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 8, 2006
Bottle from Super Saver. HAzy deep gold pour with 1-finger head that goes away and stays away. Aroma of hopcitrus, some clovey spice notes, and some honey and apricot. The palate is smooth, and the flavor is pale malty with a Caro syrupy apricot note, plus some hopcitrus and spices. I will buy this again. Cloudy golden and hazy with a quick fading white head. Aroma is lemon, corriander, nutmeg and lots of banana. Flavour is clovey with some spice but thinner on the palate them some other hefes. Finishes with a slight sweetness. Decent example but there are better ones out there.

Bright yellow and hazy in colour with strong carbonation. Strong lemon rind aroma, with some spice and over-ripe banana. More lemon in the mouth with secondary notes of vanilla and clove. Starts off medium bodied, but thins out a bit on the finish. Pleasant enough summer quaffer, but not quite as good as others that I’ve had. Thaichile (599) - 10aFly, New Jersey, USA - JUN 20, 2006
Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a niced soft head. Nose is spicy, with bread and banana. Flavor is dense white bread with a schmear of banana, sprinkle of sugar and a squeeze of a lemon. The yeast wins. An upper middle-of-the-road hefeweizen. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2006
Bottle: Pale straw, very cloudy, thin fizzy white head, falls quickly, hardly any lacing. Wheaty nose, slight citrus or lemon tinge. Typical German Hefe start, wheaty, slight banana and clove, but also a lemony/citrusy aspect. Bready, quite bready, but overall not as filling or thick as other examples. Somewhat thin and weak, especially on the finish. Decent, but not quite up to par with Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, and oodles of other German Hefewiezens. pbjclimber (150) - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2006
Pours a nice hazy straw color, but white head is lacking in retention and lacing. The taste is of wheat, a liitle clove, and a little banana. The mouth feel is light and a little watery. This is a decent heferweizen. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2006
06.08.06 Half liter bottle. Mostly hazy yellow golden with smallish but lasting white head. Surprising lack of lace. Aroma is standard, solid hefe, fruity, light banana, lemongrass background, and savory spice. There’s also a beginning note of oxidation (cardboard and distant sulfur). Thinner on the palate, and fading away without pomp, eff, driness, or lingering sweetness. Average at best.
