The Grieskirchner Pilsner is the flagship of the brewery Gries churches. Anyone who has tasted the bitter delicate hop aroma once, will not easily be persuaded to an alternative.

Through its delicately tart hop aroma is very digestible. The Grieskirchner brewers affectionately call it their "Zechbier".

Vom Hahn im Biergarten in Wien getrunken. Leicht trüb und etwas dunkler alsverwartet. Sehr mild im Geschmack.

Pours a rolling rock colored clear and pale, with a thin white head. The aromas are sweet, light grain, and a tad skunky. The taste is fairly dry, watery, and very smooth. This is a very subtle & refreshing pilsner, almost like a very clean light beer, and just what the doctor ordered after cutting some grass. Overall light, refreshing, subtle, and smooth with little to offer personality wise, but highly drinkable and good. It’s amazing to me, how similar this is to an American mass produced lager, or even light beer, but how much more points it gets for being an import.

It is not the best pils not the worst beer. The color is typical for a pils with an average carbonation and thin foam. There is the hop as usual and for a pils is really malty, there is something heavy, at the final note.

33cl. Clear golden with decent head. Aroma of fresh hops as should be. Slightly sour, bitter and not so sweet. Medium bodied, with creamy feel to it. Not tangy, but rather smooth. Carbonation is superb. One of the best Pilseners in a while.

Bottle from trade with Sebilinz, many thanks!

Light malt aroma. Golden in color with decent head. Light balanced flavor of malts/hops. Light, refreshing

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2015
Pours a clear gold body with a one finger frothy white head. The nose is typical Euro lager, light pale malt, slight DMS, minimal hoppiness, and a bit of doughiness. The flavor isn’t the cleanest Pilsner, but it’s not bad, especially for being a green bottle Pils. It could use a bit more hoppiness, but it’s still quite drinkable. Light bodied and easy drinking with soft carbonation. Meh, much better than expected.

joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2015
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear yellow, one finger quick white head. Very little lacing and not much retention. Aroma of bread and hay. Taste is slightly bitter mostly sweet pilsner malt. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation, thin mouth feel. Finishes slightly bitter and dry. Tasting notes of biscuit, herbs, grass and slight green bottle skunk. Not bad but nothing special.
