On tap at Rueben's, this is a dark amber pour with a full brown head. Rich malty taste, sweet with caramel malt and apple hops.

Zoet, niet krachtig, fijne doordrinker. Caramel/chocolade. Niet bitter. Niet complexe afwisseling voor bijv. Westmalle.

Pours hazy dark brown with a diminishing, tan head. The aroma contains sugar, (light roasted) malt, caramel, bread & yeast, nuts, some licorice, faint hops. It tastes medium sugary/malty sweet and light spicy bitter; even a bit of a smoky effect. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Better than the Blonde version, better than the Leffe Brune counterpart; all in all more enjoyable, particularly with some food, rather than a tasting beer.

Bottle from Bauer farm restaurant, Cincinnati. November 2017. Medium body a bit carbonated for the style. Notes of unsweetened cocoa and rum soaked raisins. Can't compare with the prestige Belgium doubles but a fine drinking beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yeasty and mildly fruity aroma. Medium bitter taste mixed with a very strong fruity sweetness. Overall, just what you'd expect from a fruity Belgian ale.

ippopotamo36 (2533) - Rome, ITALY - OCT 15, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 Bottle. Dark amber clear with a medium ivory foam. Nose is ok, toffee, figs, caramel. Mouthfeel is no, for me. Artificial flavors, it looks like a fake Dubbel.

Keukeman (170) - BEST, NETHERLANDS - OCT 14, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 .33l bottle poured a cloudy amber to brown beer. Head is soapy and offwhite, persistence is bad, lacing medium. nose is sweet, caramel, brown sugar, malt, licorice. Taste is bittersweet, caramel, hints of red fruits, alcoholic aftertaste, nothing all too special here. Body is thick, carbonation is high, mouthfeel overall is pleasant. Not good, not bad, but wouldn't drink again anytime soon.

A very refreshing and good looking beer. Very clear appearance, red and a citrus smell and taste with a great finish that lasts. When I drink it I think of wine because the taste is medium sweet and have a soft carbonation.
