Double has undergone two fermentations, which gives this ale a chocolatey, toffee taste with a warming brandy-like finish.

33 cl bottle, $2.30 @ Binny’s, Jul ’09. Hey, 800th rating for this beer. Got a nice goblet that receives a deep red-brown, opaque beer, with a fluffy tan head. I sniff nice sweet Belgian malts and a bit of sugar, plus a bit of sourness. First thing I notice when sipping is that its texture is kind of light.Still some nice malt, sweetness is not as pronounced as some Belgian abbey beers. A little toffee if I hold some beer in my mouth, and a bit of sourness, maybe as much as in a Guinness. A bit of plum and fruitcake a little down the glass. Works out pretty nice. Mild alcohol note. Label description implies a bottle fermentation, but there’s no sediment in this one.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 Bottle. Dark amber clear with a medium ivory foam. Nose is ok, toffee, figs, caramel. Mouthfeel is no, for me. Artificial flavors, it looks like a fake Dubbel.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 .33l bottle poured a cloudy amber to brown beer. Head is soapy and offwhite, persistence is bad, lacing medium. nose is sweet, caramel, brown sugar, malt, licorice. Taste is bittersweet, caramel, hints of red fruits, alcoholic aftertaste, nothing all too special here. Body is thick, carbonation is high, mouthfeel overall is pleasant. Not good, not bad, but wouldn't drink again anytime soon.

A very refreshing and good looking beer. Very clear appearance, red and a citrus smell and taste with a great finish that lasts. When I drink it I think of wine because the taste is medium sweet and have a soft carbonation.

Eks see toiduvärv E150c selle kena jume talle annabki.

Bevuta il 06/10/2017 @IlRitrovoDegliArtisti in Grignasco (NO). Ambrata. Media carbonazione. Finale leggermente secco. Abbastanza beverina.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2017 A comercial belgian beer. For being comercial is not bad at all. Good taste of caramel, has strenght but softness at same time, not very alcoholic. The industrial procedures give to this beer this easiness for all public
