Brewed in Strasbourg for Alken-Maes, distribution unclear. Spiced.

Grimbergen Blanche is a true wheat beer in the most traditional sense. The pale yellow Blanche is cloudy, just as you would expect from a wheat beer. Notes of citrus and light carbonation add character to the creamy palate and make Blanche an excellent thirst quencher.

Bottle at the hotel restaurant with my dinner of duck confit in Paris. Sounds more exotic than it really was. Pours a medium to light gold, nice head. Aroma is wheat and an almost lime note. Flavor is a close match - a good bit of coriander, and instead of the typical orange peel notes, something that comes off more like lime or bergamot. Refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. Liked this one.

330ml bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a lasting white head. Aroma is perfumey coriander, notes of earl grey tea, wheat. Taste is light sweet, fruity, vanilla, a bit sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Blanche standard, manquant de peps et d’arôme. Une déception sur la gamme Grimbergen

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy yellow pour with minimal white head. Vanishes almost instantly. Ok lacing. Nice smell, typical for the style. Yeast, wheat, coriander. Herbal and grassy. Medium body with high carbonation. Somewhat thick texture. Taste is mostly sour with subtle sweetness to back it up. Refreshing. Aroma pretty much the same as the smell, a bit watered down, slightly lacking. Malts, yeast, wheat, coriander, herbs. Slightly peppery. Nice, but not coming through good enough. Subdued. Regular finish, herbal aftertaste. Overall, good. Textbook example of the style, lacking in boldness.

Pours a hazy orange color, topped with a medium and not so lasting white head. Sweaty, sweet wheaty nose with quiet some spices present. Taste follows, sweet with bananas and fruits, slightly spices in teh finish, but not much. Nice fruity finish with some sweaty feel. Surprisingly tasty and refreshing.

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into a (original) trappist glass. Appearance: Cloudy honey colour, with small head. Aroma: Grains/wheat, pear… Palate: Medium body, medium carbonation. Taste: Slightly sweet, pear; slight bitter and sour aftertaste. Overall impression: Quite ok but nothing special. Cute bottle/label.

33 cl bottle served in proper chalice. Pours hazy pale golden with short-lived white head. Aroma is intense: coriander, cinnamon, whit flowers. Soft and creamy, nice yeast sourness. Round, low bitterness. Medium persistence. Even though it’s industrial, it’s a nice industrial one.
