COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Once upon a time in the land of Bavaria, a darkness fell upon the beer in the town of Munich. But have no fear – this darkness was born of a toasted malt that produces a bready chocolate flavor. This full-bodied brew is now known as a Munich Dunkel. Our dunkel is made with just enough hoppy bitterness to scare away any overt sweetness. Then it is carefully lagered to produce a cleaness that no one will shudder at.

This caramel-amber colored brew was highly carbonated, and topped by a caramel-tan foam head. Nicely accented Munich malt aromatic character that is followed through in flavor. Restrained grain and maltiness, and muted hops.

Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Looks and feels good but lacks at the business end.

12 oz can, from a collection of different cans picked up from one of the latest breweries to show up recently in the Seattle area. In my couple trips to Colorado, these guys never came up, so I’m glad to see them make their way here. Dark copper orange pour with a lasting patchy head. Sweet and spice mild aroma. A very mild, gentle flavor, very easy drinking lager. Toast precise malt flavor throughout. Subtle nuttiness. Seems like this would be sweeter, but it never gets there. Doesn’t have a full amount of flavor going on, but this drinks nicely. Enjoyed this.

Cask at GBBF 2016, Day 1 - London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. The character is defined by toasted cereal grains and light honey notes. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet on the finish, with further cereal, some bread, minimal bitterness. Not bad overall.

September 2nd, 2014 - On tap today at Parry’s :Pizzeria is the Grimm. Brothers Fearless Youth. Brown and semi-clear, it darkens the table, but the ominous silhouette produces a sweet aroma, with plum and blackberry, but also a touch of hops and Pilsener malts. The body is medium weight and is slightly velvety, and the taste is mildly sweet, giving the impression of a session ale. That sweetness escalates into clear cranberry and apple notes, and inflates even more with some bubble gum flavors. And to conclude, the flavors end with a mineral water character, ending on a clearer, palate cleansing note.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours clear red - brown with a small white head. The aroma is oily, pine, resin, wood, varnish and toffee. The taste is dry, bitter, woody, oily pine and resinous action with a smooth, slightly sweet finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Not a huge amount to it. I had hoped for more.
