Hazy copper pour. Slight malt character on the nose. Nutty flavor, but little else to back it. A nice, mildly sour finish.
On tap at Hops and PIe poured a clear golden amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of caramel and earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Tap at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - hey, an actually traditional alt made by a US brewery - flavor and aroma are malty and full, but also dry, crisp and grassy - dry toasted grains, light esters, light mineral, grassy hop character - finish is fruity and lightly bitter - few american brewers do alts this well. onceblind (9629) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 23, 2011
Tap @ brewery. Clear dark golden in color, with a big malty aroma of cereal grain, pale malt, fermented sugar, and biscuity lager malt. Equally big flavor of biscuit, toast, mild boozy esters, a touch of caramel, and a "golden ale" flavor that I cannot elaborate. Tap @ brewery. Pretty clear, golden orange appearance with a creamy, ivory head. Pretty mild, a touch caramel-like, noble hoppy nose that kind of makes me think of an altbier/pils/heller bock hybrid. Light caramel, mild to medium malt deeepness, moderately noble hoppy flavor. A touch of fruitiness but mostly a light malt driven brew with a nice noble hoppiness. Almost like a lighter, slightly more caramel-like Dead Guy. Great session brew. This is a Munster-style alt.
