Hazy dark brown with a thin light beige head. Nose is malty and earthy biscuity with a light nutty caramel behind it. Body is light but pleasant to drink. Nice pleasant roasty tones with a biscuity body and light grainy toast. Nothing much, but a clean and pleasant porter nonetheless. RobertDale (6755) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - AUG 7, 2013
On tap at Oskar Blues in Longmont. Comes dark brown with a nice brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, and caramel. Taste is roast, earth, caramel, coffee, and grass. Nice and easy to drink. Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 1, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep brown, almost black with a big tan head and decent lacing. Roasty, earthy, grassy, cocoa, light vanilla, earthy, and maple syrup in the aroma. Taste is somewhat bland, roasty, earthy, grassy, bready, and caramelly. Medium body with soft carbonation. Ok, but really needs more body. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 1, 2013
Tap @ Grimm Brothers. This is an Erntebier which I thought was a light harvest beer but this is a darker, sort of dunkel-style beer. Pours a dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Moderately roasty, light coffee, mild toffee, caramel, a bit earthy aroma. Light bodied, somewhat earthy bitter hoppy, espresso, toffee, well balanced flavor with a fairly dry finish. Easy to drink.
