Magnetic Compass prominently features NZ Rakau hops, bringing a unique mix of candied orchard fruit, stone fruit, and tropical aromas with some light dank elements. Background notes of Citra, Mosaic, and Columbus. Very hazy and juicy. Roll your can to suspend hop particles and enjoy.

ClarkVV (6893) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 31, 2017
Draught at Picco, 12/22/16.
Moderately hazy, light blonde-golden body is topped by a medium-sized white head showing moderate retention.
Lots of dry tropical fruit in the nose; nectarine, kiwi, and pineapple with yellow apples and a strong orange-lemon character towards the end. Good strength of aroma, with no malt interrupting but maybe a touch too much dryness letting some excess acidity/resin creep out.
Starts out moderately juicy, as expected, with a dry, lean but malty enough body bolstered by tight carbonation. Mango and pineapple quickly turn to unripe nectarine, grapefruit and lemon and bitterness keeps coming forth. Grows unbalanced/overly bitter rather quickly and there’s not nearly enough malt softness/sweetness to soak it up.

Can from Vin. It pours a hazy yellow/light orange color with a creamy white head. The aroma has huge passionfruit, light lemon/lime and grapefruit. Maybe a hint of honey-like and graham cracker maltiness. Smells juicy. The flavor is spectacular with juicy passionfruit, mango and lemon/lime in the finish. It has a full, silky mouth feel with no caramel. Bready malts with a light hint of honey. Very delicious.

Can - care of my brother. Cloudy pale gold pour with a big fluffy head of white foam. Aroma is citrus lemony hops and malts like dry hay. Muffled hop bite and bitter finish on top of a juicy malt base. A nice drink that sneaks up on you with invisible alcohol.

Pours extremely cloudy and orange with a good amount of dense white foam. The aroma stands out. Sweet with candied fruits, some light pepper, and light biscuit. The flavor is juicy up front, tropical fruits followed by citrus giving a slight bitterness and finished with a bit of doughiness. Smooth feel with a little bit of thickness behind it. This could be my favorite Grimm IPA so far!

Can shared with Neighbor during Lava soap delivery. Lotsa hops abound in this evenly balanced big critter. Sweet malts are the source of the candy. Crackers. and long drawn out balanced finish. Intense head from start to finish.

Draught @ Albion. Hazy bright yellow with small whitish foamy head, lemon peel aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter citrus peel taste with some mango, somewhat thick body, longish citrusy finish. Another very good IPA from Grimm.

Cloudy yellow gold, white head. Light tropical fruits, quite a bit of piney resin. Bitter, some light sweetness. Medium body, a bit of the oiliness. Long finish. Quite nice.

Can shared in NYC - cheers to Sander. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Good aroma, a little pale bread, orange, melon. Light-medium sweet flavour with a nice juicy citru character, some rindy bitterness, more melon, tangerine, hints of grass. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Good balance in the finish, with more rindy bitterness, tangerine and orange. Really solid.

Hazy gold pour with 2 fingers of white head. Mosaic forward aroma, strawberry, tangerine, melon, floral. Citrus up front, floral, hoppy, light chive, cracker malt, passionfruit. Medium body, good lacing and a dry finish. Another winner, easily approachable.

Can @ Monkish. My first hoppy beer from Grimm, which is neat as I have been enjoying their sour beers. Cloudy golden beer with some white foam. Thought this was pretty nice. A good mix of dried blueberry, some pineapple, and grapefruit zest. Kind of a citric unripe berry thing going on on the tongue along with all the citrus fruits. Bready and biscuity malt, nice body, and a dry, moderately bitter finish.
