Pours jet black with caramel colored head and little noticeable lacing. Earthy tobacco on the nose. Hints of roasted coffee beans and chocolate. Medium carbonation; pretty dry. Not the greatest stout.

Sample at brewpub. Pours black with a khaki head. Slight roasted malt note on the nose. Fairly malty on the tongue with some roast notes. Could use some more hoppiness for balance. Kind of one note. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from portland- drank at home with friends. Decent stout- nothing special. Pretty well balanced- not overly sweet. All the right stout notes but much better stout readily available. Once and done.

Trs simple. Tout de mme facile boire.

On tap at the brewpub. Close to black in the glass, topped by a dense, two-finger beige head. The aroma is quite roasted, close to bonfire, with some chocolate and coffee grit. Its dry on the palate, still it feels sort of milk stout sweet. Roasted bitterness, some hops, prunes and a good dash of burnt malts. Very smooth on the palate, medium body. Long burnt finish. Quite lovely. 151609

Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, lactose sugar and hint of ash. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long chocolate, coffee and caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
