3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The appearance is a deep golden brown color with a short white head that lingers a bit and leaves a good lacing along the sides of the glass. The smell contains caramelized malts, vanilla, butterscotch and touches of hops. The taste has a sweet but a sort of mildness of caramel and butterscotch within the malty character. Once again the hops are mild and balances superbly in this beer. There is a sligbhtly sweet aftertaste. The palatel is smooth and a little crisp, with a medium body, and medium carbonation. The finish is a bit dry. Overall, this is a good beer.
Bottle, 12 oz, screw-top. Nose is very malty, sweet but not overdone, with wet grain and faint smoke, candyish elements and artificial sweetener, light citrus. Pours deep amber with a soapy tan head. In the mouth it’s airy, sweet but not too bad, very warming on the throat with light spikes of alcohol in the mouth, faint smoke with some gritty resin and lighter phenol/bubblegum/candy character. A bit grainy (as in husky), touch of toasting to the malt, earthy hops with a bit of wood. Dries out slightly, light body is pretty soft and actually somewhat interesting, but there are brewing flaws all over this and it’s pretty dirty on the whole. gripweed57 (2314) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - MAR 22, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Dark copper color. Medium-sized foamy beige head. Subtle bready toasted malt aroma. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront. Notes of roasted nuts and dark caramel. Slightly sour backdrop. Brief woody finish with a hint of dry hops. trapped (3097) - New York, TURKEY - JAN 26, 2014

On tap at J’s resturaunt. Complex aroma of caramel malts and spicy hops. golden with off white head. complex malts were over powered by the floral hop flavors. good on palate. Very pleasent brew overall. Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Aroma of caramel, peat, and sweetbread. Medium copper color, relatively still. Biting, crisp start, long mellow semi-sweet finish. Body is a tad papery, otherwise very consumable. Decent Scottish style beer. burg326 (5479) - Florida, USA - JUL 19, 2012
12 ounce bottle pours an amber color, with aromas of peat, malt, and biscuits. Flavors are teh same with some light floral hops added. Ok beer overall, would drink again if I had to. puboflyons (3407) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - APR 26, 2012
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of Dec 12. The pour an attractive deep amber with virtually no head. The aroma is nice and malty like a Scottish Ale should be with a bready but sweet quality . The body is medium. The taste has a sweet bitterness to it but maybe a tad astringent. Dryish aftertaste. It is not a bad take on the style but not one of the best takes on the style.
