Bottle. Also pitch black, dark brown at the edge when held up to the light. Thick, foamy head. Coffee, chocolate, red wine aroma. Taste is bitter stout, some sweet, dark malt, and some kind of wine or fruit tang. Creamy oatmeal body. Overall, a solid oatmeal stout.

Bottle. Pours a flat black body under a large frothy light brown head that slowly faded. The nose is roasty with some coffee, and an underlying sweetness. The flavor is minimally sweet with some roast and a light coffee laced finish. Some caramel and black malt bitterness on the finish as well. The more I drink, the more there builds a slight acrid note that lingers and becomes a little too overly bitter. Lighter bodied with lots ofd fizzy carbonation, seems a bit thin overall. Not the most pleasant of Sweet Stouts, it comes up a bit short on the sweetness. PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2013

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige irregular head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity touch, chloride, citrus, smoky, charcoal, bit dusty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, chocolate, charcoal, weird spiciness, coffee, hops. Aftertaste: cocoa powder, some dried fruits, mocha, bit of caramel, coffee. This is a "sweet" stout? Ok, then... weirdos.
Bomber. Nose of chocolate, coffee, hops. Sweet chocolate flavor, creamy, café au lait. Light, clean body, very bitter finish with lots of hops, licorice, citrus. Nice flavor, huge hops. Bitter as hell.

Courtesy of to tderoeck. Thx! 650 ml. bottle sampled during Zwanze Day shenanigans. Pours black with a tanned head. Sweet nose, ripe with blueberries, blackberries & bramble berries sinking in sweet malts, chocolate, coffee, oatmeal. Taste is sweet, previously mentioned berries, thick liquorish but not in a bad way, chocolate, faintly roasted malts & oatmeal, some bitter herbs & liquorish in the back. Creamy body. Pretty nice stuff here. Berard (639) - Salem, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Draft. Pours black with creme white head that lingers. No visible carbonation with mild hop aroma. Similar to a black ipa style with bitter chocolate finish bit lighter hops. I can't taste the oats. I'm a big fan of black ipas and this beer wets my whistle....

Draught in Freeport: This one poured an opaque, almost black color. There was about a finger of a tan head on it that left lots of lacing. The nose is nice. Some sweet chocolate and roasted notes. The taste is also good. A bit of roastiness and coffee, and some chocolate with a subdued sweetness. Some bitterness also. Nicely balanced. puboflyons (3463) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 15, 2013
From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. It has a mainly black pour with a light brown head but there is a touch of brown around the edges. The aroma has a variety of scents including dark malts, oatmeal, yeast, coffee, and just a little bit of hops at the end. The body is medium and smooth. The taste starts slightly sweet and dark and quickly evolves into a mildly bitter finish. The more it warms the better it tastes. williamstome (1909) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Very dark brown pour. Light, chocolaty aroma. Very strong chocolaty roasty flavor. Very bitter sharp finish. Hmm.
